Sorry, I don't know why I have problems quoting posts. Must be my phone as I don't have problems when I use my laptop.

Congratulations to all of the recent approvals, I'm so happy and excited for everyone! Things seem to be moving along now, finally!

NVC received our case today (1 week from noa2), got my police certificate and immunizations today. Just waiting on NVC to forward my case to Vancouver.

How did you find out that NVC received your case?

I meant to write this to you... Oops!

I called the NVC- 603-334-0700, you might have to try a couple of times to get through as it can be busy.

You will need your uscis #, petitioner and applicant (beneficiary now becomes the visa applicant) full name and dob. NVC can tell you if they have received the case, your case #, and if they have received your case; when it was sent to the local consulate.

Good luck!

Dianne, the best thing to do now is keep yourself busy. Take the necessary action once you've reached the five-month mark. A few months of waiting is nothing compared to a lifetime of being together. Everything will be fine. *hug*

Thank you... Wow... I just noticed now youre from ny too like my timmy:)))

I feel the same! I am hopeless. This process is getting even more complicated, the TSC is a joke! They are approving too slow and if that wasn't enough they are not sending the cases to NVC. My fiance's congressman called them a week ago and they said we should get a decision within 30 days. That is BS!! There are so many cases before ours and they are too slow. It seems like this will never end! and even if we get the noa2 now it could take 6 to 8 weeks untill NVC send it to the embassy in Brazil!? What the #######?? This is so frustrating!

Sorry guys for my thoughts, I'm just saying... cray5ol.gif

Lets just really have faith that it will come soon..hugs

Sighs...most number around me already have an approval... Why do they jump over mine:((

I hear ya. I just called the USCIS again. Apparently all we can do is sit and wait until our petition goes outside normal processing times, which are updated monthly. I know the USCIS lists I-129F as 5 months for normal processing, but that is only an estimate and the Rep stated so. The "official" processing time is based off of the Service Center data, which can vary. If you are past the 5 month mark, you can call and listen to the BS they tell you, but you cannot make a request for anything until your case is outside normal processing times. To find out if it is, you have to call and they will tell you if it is or not. You can also use the USCIS site to log into your account and attempt an e-request. If it allows you to make a request because you are outside normal processing times, then you are "officially" outside normal processing times. If it does not allow you to file the request, then you are not outside normal processing times. What fun eh? Ridiculous system of monkeys flinging papers around.

Even more disturbing, a good portion of February filers have already been approved or RFE'd. While my February 6th petition remains untouched, the are processing March and April. @#$@# joke. I look forward to the day when I no longer have to use this site as a means of therapy due to our incompetent government immigration system and its employees. Think that wraps it up!

Possible news...

Our case may have been forwarded to the Vancouver consulate (!!!)

I checked on DHL tracking today and there was one case sent from NVC to the Vancouver consulate. Not knowing for sure, I emailed the Vancouver consulate. Hoping to hear back soon!

How to track from NVC to local consulate:

When you know what date (or in my impatience, possible date) that your case was forward to embassy (mm/dd/yyyy).

1- Go to DHL TRACK

2- On the top left corner click express

3- Then click shippers reference

4- Type in the reference # (we'll use July. 16, 2013 as an example)

EXP 15 JUL 2013A <-- type reference exactly like this. I put the date 1 day prior as the NVC schedules shipping one day in advance.

I can't take ownership for this tip as someone else gave me this tip, but I found it helpful so; I thought I'd share.

I know that a lot of people are still waiting on their noa2, and I know that it must be a stressful time for you.

I hope that everyone will receive approvals soon. :)

Sending positive thoughts your way, fingers crossed for everyone!

Congratulations

That's a new one though, I hadn't heard of them calling people. did you file any type of service request or anything?

No - just standard application. They left a message on my fiancé's answer phone! I asked him to call to double check :)

Hey Guys,

I am a Feb filer and just got my Approval Email. The file was transferred from VSC to Texas June 21st. We also got an RFE, but after exactly a day of them getting my RFE backl, it was approved.

Does anyone know the process from here on out. I am bit confused about when the file will be transferred to the Indian consulate for visa. I understand that it goes to National Visa office next, but is it sent to the Indian Consulate at the same time??

Does anyone know about an approx. timeframe?

Hi Kinnu554, looks like we have a similar case. I'm feb 2013 filer and my case was also transferred to Texas on June 21st. I never got any RFE and received an email 2 days ago that my NOA2 was approved. My fiance is also in Mumbai. As far as I know, I believe it's going to take a little more than a month for the file to get to the indian consulate. I think you're basically looking at about 2.5-3 months on average to getting your visa. This is what I was told by a fellow VJ member on this forum (thanks Cooltoon79!)

I think in the meantime you should be ready with the next set of documents mentioned below. I think I have them all but let me know if you think I'm missing anything.

  • copy of NOA2
  • affidavit of support
  • my past 3 years tax return
  • pay stubs
  • letter of employment
  • letter of intent
  • copy of the entire I-129-F package.

Hope that helps.

Saumil
