February 2013 filers K1

Just another quick update on my case....London has received our file and we have a medical scheduled for later this month. We could have scheduled the medical a little earlier, but she wanted to wait to do it while I was there. After the medical is done, we'll get an interview date, then we can get a plane ticket and make the actual wedding plans. It seems almost surreal how much smoother this process goes once it leaves USCIS and goes to the State Department (NVC & Embassy). I am feeling quite lucky indeed. I hope for the best for the rest of my fellow February filers as well. Hopefully we'll all be with the ones we love by year's end

Update,

Lawyer called USCIC regarding CSC timing. I filed 02/01/2013, receipt 02/06/2013. They claim they are working on petitions from 02/04/2013, which is a line of BS as you can see they are well into March at this point. Supposedly should see something within a few weeks, but not holding my breath.

If you haven't already done so, you should make sure to read the thread pinned at the top of the UK forum regarding what to do from NOA2 til Interview. It has lots of helpful advice. A brief version of it is, that if you have a wedding planned (I won't harp on the bad idea part, I'm sure you understand now why it is so) you should be sure to get the petitioner information for the I-134 printed right away and get the supporting documents and get it sent to the beneficiary. Once you have your case number (starting with LND) the beneficiary can fill out the forms (all listed in that thread in the UK forum) and schedule the medical. Hopefully they have a police certificate, if not they need to order that ASAP as well as it takes 2-3 weeks (10 days AFTER they receive the request). If you have all this done, then when the case arrives in London (about a 7-14 days from the time you get your case number assigned (mine took 11 days) you will be able to file your interview readiness documentation. I've heard that if you have a date and put it in there, they do try to get you in with a quicker interview date. Obviously, they can only get you into an available slot, so still no guarantees, but it's worth a shot and if it works could save you from another long wait for the Spousal Visa.

Here's a link to the thread I mentioned in the UK forum:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/350185-london-2012-k1s-from-noa2-to-interview-thread/

Best of luck to you

That's excellent thanks very much for the advice

We haven't received our NOA2 just yet or planned a wedding date but I am going over to the US on the 6th of September for 2 1/2 months (waiting 10 months to see each other again is just too long). We were hoping to have our NOA2 this month (We have a receipt of the NOA1 21st Feb). I want to try and have as much stuff ready BEFORE I go over to the US so that we can organise as much as possible, documents ready, file everything and schedule the consulate meetings while I am over in the US for as soon as I get back. I will have to visit the Sydney US consulate as there is no US consulate in Brisbane.

I was just wondering if there is a thread somewhere for Australian's similar to the UK posted earlier? It would be really handy to read over and get the opportunity to start getting what we can together now.

I don't see a specific thread pinned like the UK folks created, but I can link you to the Australia regional forum and you could search through there (if you haven't already) and if you don't find anything, maybe get one started. Once it's there, people chip in over time and it becomes a great resource. Here's the forum:

See my post in this same thread and UK-USA-K1's response. This seems to indicate they are actively working on your file.

It's 8 VJ approvals at CSC and yes, mostly March and April. We need to wait for adjudicators to come back to Jan and Feb files. But there's a sign, some new Feb files are also being worked on. smile.png

I totally agree! I had a bit of a rant on the Vermont to Texas transfer thread about people in March and April going YEAH APPROVALS WILL BE IN FOR US SOON when Feb filers are still waiting.

I don't understand why they are picking up March & April files!? I don't mean to sound snobby or anything but my fiance and my case is really straight forward - we aren't from a high risk country for fraud, we have submitted ample documentation of our relationship, not to mention we have been together for 5 years! We lived together is Australia etc etc etc etc I could go on and on... in my eyes it's a REALLY SIMPLE CASE, why are others jumping ahead of us who filed MONTHS later!?

I have been doing some trawling and came across another thread discussion about how the hell things are being processed etc and why are some people put above others.

Anyway, long story short... This link (although a few years old now) it is actually REALLY useful to read. It is a Q & A with a past employee of USCIS adjudicator and how things are done etc.

I thought others might find it useful!
