January filers getting transferred to another service center..... I hope this means that our cases would be approved faster.best of luck to all of us!

They've sent some of December too I think. So hopefully our turn will be sooner than expected!

I wasn't expecting anything until August or September, if we get it a few months sooner that would be incredible.

Am I just being too optimistic?

I look at Igor's list and I see a 75% response rate...NOA2 or RFE for Jan.

I feel like I'm getting to the top of the pile, don't you?

I'm a 3rd week Feb filer and just looking at things, my gut tells me I will hear something in June.

My packet was assembled with precision.

Japan doesn't seem to be a high-risk country etc...

Evidence of multiple meetings and multiple transpacific flights included.

Geo-location screenshots for each hard copy photo etc.

Definitely not a shoebox full of receipts at an IRS tax audit type of application.

No touches since 2/25 however.

Good luck all!

I wish I had the same optimism. Vermont just doesn't seem to be taking things seriously. I know they've just transferred a load of Dec/Jan petitions, but from what I've read there's still a lot left at Vermont and they don't seem to be in any rush to process them. 4 or 5 approvals a day on Igor's just feels like they're going to end up with another backlog.

Knowing that CSC is starting to process Feb is kinda depressing when I know it's going to be at least 2 months until I hear anything from Vermont.

It takes forever to receive noa2. I hate waiting. From reading another post, they are transferring lots of case in DEC-JAN from VSC to the other centre. Maybe they will process our cases quicker.

Should I start prepping for the interview? Gather documents/pictures, get immunizations, etc...? Is that crazy? What is everyone else doing?

Also, I've had to assemble documents to proof that I have intent to return when I have visited my fiancé (6 months of bank statements, bills, pay stubs, letter from employer and tax info). I am just wondering if anyone else has had to go through this? I really hope everything else is smooth sailing, and good luck to all! smile.png

It's never to early to do your preparing. Immunizations sometimes take multiple visits to get them complete, so it would be wise to start now.

Assuming here that you are the beneficiary....you may want to also have your petitioner get their supporting documentation for the I-134 affidavit of support prepared so all he has to do is print it, sign it and mail it to you with the supporting documents right after the NOA2.

Best of luck to you on the next steps of your journey

Do you not have to go to approved doctors with proof of interview appointment in hand before you can do that?

Also, I'm confused by the comments regarding VSC. Some say they've transferred December and January cases and that this is good news; others say it's depressing. My estimated timeline is September 3-8. Given that I received NOA1 on 2/28, that would make it just under five months, which seems to be the standard waiting time, give or take. Were it six, seven, or eight months, then I'd begin to worry.

You can have your immunizations done at any time. Technically they aren't required until you actually want to Adjust status since the K-1 is a non-immigrant visa. Of course the whole point is to get married and adjust status, so you will need the immunizations eventually. Many find it cheaper (or free) to have them done in your home country. I have really just been dealing with the UK, but I imagine it is also relatively simple to update your immunizations in Canada much cheaper than the US, so it's a good idea.

For the medical that is done at the approved facility, that is a complete medical examination. You can do immunizations that you need at that time, but (at least in the UK) they charge you for them on top of the regular charge for the visit. This of course has to wait, because once your medical is done, they send those files to the embassy with your case file, so if you don't have a case file, that won't work too well.

As for the whole VSC thing. Right now, VSC is not processing cases as fast as they are coming in. They are falling behind and it is a very frustrating thing to watch. This is something that tends to happen quite frequently at both service centers. They seem to adjust which types of applications they give higher priority to depending on their workload. Generally when they get too far behind in one, the rearrange the priorities and start working on them again. In this instance, it seems whatever VSC has prioritized, they couldn't stop and work on I-129F petitions so they sent quite a few to Texas. This is a double edged sword. Texas doesn't usually adjudicate this type of petition so there is a learning curve, which could mean a slower process or possibly a higher rate of RFEs. Nobody really knows for sure, so some people tend to look at it as the glass half full and others see that glass half empty.

Your timeline on here will fluctuate over time. I've seen mine as early as June and as late as October. I figure it's best to plan for my personal case, to plan as if they will be done sooner so I am ready, but to also figure it could be as late as October so I don't get myself too worked up during the roller coaster that is the Visa Journey.

In Canada, I am able to get the immunizations that I need to have; done for free (from my family doctor). So I thought having them done before hand would be easier (something I wont have to worry about, less stress later) and cost effective.

I'm not judging when I will receive my noa2 based on the timeline, although I am excited because it is earlier than I anticipated. I am hoping for July- August, but mentally prepared for October. Based on past years, VSC and CSC seem to go through a tug o war of sorts. During a period of time VSC has more petitions than they can process, once they get caught up; CSC seems to have the same issue. I know it's a stressful time for everyone, but everything will happen when it's suppose to. :D I know it's easier said than done, but I think of it as 'what's a few months compared to the rest of my life?'

After reading some of the posts for January filers, they seemed to have had some approvals recently; it's reassuring to hear.

Thank you for the quick knowledgable response!

Cheers!

David,

Thanks for putting that in perspective. Do you know of any resources which list out precisely which immunizations are needed?

As for the whole VSC thing. Right now, VSC is not processing cases as fast as they are coming in. They are falling behind and it is a very frustrating thing to watch. This is something that tends to happen quite frequently at both service centers.

I see. If that is the case, hopefully the tide will turn.

It is totally depressing to see that vsc is slow.... I hate when i feel that my hunnie gets too depressed not being able to see me( for a year now). I really couldve convinced him to come here for the second time but i greatly understand that we need to prioritize more important things than just seeing each other temporarily and Part ways again. Im just really really wishing that vsc finds the light to make our approvals faster.....so we can be with our loved ones for a lifetime the next time we see them

Indeed it is, but hopefully they'll pick up.

I hope you hear something soon smile.png
