The Phillipines and Pakistan are two countries that do not allow co-sponsors with a K-1. I'm not sure about Egypt. It may be beneficial for you to re-post your question in your appropriate regional sub-forum so that other Egypt members may assist you better.

If co-sponsors are allowed, now is probably a good time to get one lined up in case you are rejected for your new job.

I am the petitioner.

Hi, You don't have to be employed, you only need a co sponsor that meets the poverty guidelines. If you will be making under the required amount when you fill out the I-134 while including your check stubs, employer letter, etc...It's very important to have a co sponsor if you won't be meeting the poverty guideline. Start looking into a co sponsor while awaiting NOA2. Good Luck!

That is such a good news for egypt... but I suppose he implies he is now himself above the poverty line, because the OP question was to know if he could avoid getting a co-sponsor smile.gif

So the question is: how long of a job history do you need in order to avoid the co-sponsor?

to the OP : I asked this question a while ago. The answer I got was: Usually, if you are way above the poverty line, you'll be totally fine without a co-sponsor, but if you can get one, do it, just in case the CO says 'you won't be enough as a sponsor. Do you have a co-sponsor?'

It might also depend on the embassy, so I recommend you ask the question on the appropriate regional forum to hear from poeple who have been in your situation... As said before, some embassies won't accept co-sponsors anyway, some will only on certain condition, etc. It is VERY important to check the specific for those questions in the regional forums.

Consulate specific. There is no "law" or rule about this. You can claim the "current annual income" immediately, whether or not a consulate accepts it or not is up to them. Kiev (Ukraine) accepts any validated income, you could get the job today and fill out the I-134 tomorrow and as long as you had an employment letter you would be good to go. Other consulates make their own rules. Ask in the MENA sub-forum

Im going to say no because child support is not taxable, you dont report it on your tax return, so its technically not 'income', however the 134 form and your income is subject to the discretion of the person reviewing it at the embassy. So they may count child support as income. You could try listing it and include proof of it and see if it goes over.

But I know for the 864 for AOS- they will not count child support (no way at all)
