quick question about police record check for getting married in Morocco

Hey guys, Just a quick question for you. I opted to get my record check done by the local police department in the county where I live. I am going to be getting married in Morocco. I see that it is possible to have a record check done by the state police that covers the entire state of Florida. I'm wondering if I should get that too. I know this question has been discussed before but did anyone have any problems using just the record check from their local police department when they got married in Morocco? Now that it is about time to go I am started to worry that I am doing everything correctly! Thanks a lot for any insight you have to share about this.

Hi Abbi! I would get it "just-in-case." I had gotten the FBI check and did not have a problem. It's better to be safe than smacking yourself in the head. Also, have a couple of copies of your birth certificate. You'll need one in Rabat for the Moroccan police report and at least one for the court filing. Good Luck & safe journey!

edit - should be a couple original BC's

Thanks. It is too late for the FBI report now. It takes I think up to 12 weeks. But just to be safe I will take a copy from the local police and from the state police. And I am SO glad you said that about two original birth certificates. I only have one. Fortunately I can order another one and have it delivered before I leave. See what I mean about last minute worries!!!!

How have you been? I know it is hard to adjust to being alone back here in the States after being with your husband. It was hard for me to leave last time and I don't even want to THINK about how it will be this time. But hopefully your case will go quickly and you will have him home with you soon. I hope we all have our loved ones with us soon.

Thanks for your help HappyToBe. You have been a life saver to me in getting this paperwork ready and I will forever appreciate all your help.

Thank you wantknow. I was just planning to use the police record check from Palm Beach County but then I started to worry that maybe it would be better to be from Florida State Police. Glad to know you didn't have any problems. If you don't mind my asking - how long did it take for you to get married in Morocco? I know it is different for everyone.

Once we got everything done it took about a week but I had two previous visits because I could stay for two weeks vacation at a time. Getting the other documents was the hardest and longest

because we are very far from Casa.

I am staying for 3 months so hopefully there will be plenty of time to get everything done. I am so nervous about this. Not about getting married. I'm nervous about all the paperwork and the hoops we have to jump through to get married. But I am so happy and excited too. Thanks again!

Hi. The area where I will be is near Sidi Bennour. Is that near you? Where are you flying out of on the 18th? Because that is the date I am flying out too! Was supposed to be sooner but had to change it because of some schedule conflicts.
