Hi everyone,

I wonder if I can have my x-ray and sputum tests done in advance at St. Luke's just to give me a heads up before my medical check up.BTW, I haven't yet received my NOA2, but I have read so much about this dreaded sputum tests. Can I do it there for my peace of mind?Or does this clinic only allows visa applicants for medical check up?

Only visa applicants are allowed to enter the st lukes medical extension clinic.. I think noa2 is allowed to present for the medical. You should have it first for you to be allowed to have your medical.

Maybe it's a good idea to get checked at your regular or local doctor and x-rayed to check out potential problems.

I got x-rayed in Siargao--it was like a jungle hospital--after a motorcycle accident, and I had to ask them to put a covering over my body so I wouldn't go sterile--makes you wonder about these places!

You can get your x-ray done at a different clinic. You cannot use that result though for St. Lukes. They will still require you to get x-ray there.

Ahmmm...I think she is asking if she can have her x–ray done at St. Lukes prior to approval of her visa which we both know it's not possible. Based on my understanding, she wants to do it at St. Lukes so she knows what's her health status as far as x–ray is concern..

Visa Arrived ---------- 10/17/2013

Delays maybe inevitable, but misery is optional!

I guess any hospital would accept health examination since you will be paying. I schedule my annual health exam after my NOA2. Call St. Lukes and inquire about your concern.

You can have medical exam in any hospital prior to your NOA2, but I think for the visa it is only the St. Lukes that is accredited for the US. (I may be wrong) The seminar in CFO was clear about St. Lukes for US emigrant.

St. Lukes will not accept x-ray results from other hospitals. You cannot go to st lukes with out showing the requirements needed. Even if you are clear with your xrays from other clinics but turned out that there are abnormalities in your xray at st. Lukes. You will have to undergo sputum smear for 3 days, if it is negative, you will have to wait for another 2 months for the sputum culture..

I wonder does every foreigner that visits or lives in the Philippines have motorcycle accidents??? I lived there 5 years and had 1. All of my friends there had at least one. At least I did mine self inflected by dirt bike racing in the mountains. None the less still have a scar as a souvenier on my calf. Hope your injury was not too bad. And you are right about some hospitals there. Good luck to you.

I am not expert on this but as far as I know St. Lukes Clinic near embassy is ONLY for VISA APPLICANT and you will NEED the MNL CASE# to do it.. You cannot advance to do it not until you get your noa2 and settle the payments.

(those are what I have read on here)

Incase you just wanna check your xray etc there's another St. Lukes Med Clinic in QC and Taguig (I guess, bcoz that where my sister always go for her every 6mos check up)

or

you can do them on other clinic.

<anyone if I am wrong please correct me - Thanks>

Does it mean that even if I had my cxray already I still have to have cxray in St. Lukes? I have annual c-x ray and sputum test because it is a requirement in my work.

St. Luke's is a normal hospital, without a doctor's admission order you will not be accepted (okay you can go to the emergency room for well.... emergencies) but for routine stuff you will ned to go to your local doctor. St Luke's

Without your MNL # you can not get into the extension clinic (having the NOA2 will not be enough). For this you need your appointment letter/confirmation page from online for K-1 or the Instructions Letter for CR/IR-1 (and other types) visa. SLEC

Yes that's what it means.....However you can bring your old chest x-rays films not less then 3 months prior to the medical exam, they will only be used for 'comparison purpose'. St. Luke's chest x-ray will be the deciding factor.

Yes, St. Luke's will still require you to get x-ray from them. Because you will receive the x-ray results in a sealed CD and you will need to bring it to US for adjustment of status process.
