Is the USCIS web updated?

I thought ur case was automatically updated online every time something is updated on ur case?
Nope; someone has to do it.

Back in my petition days, I asked an IO about status updates. He said, "If every case were updated every time something happened, it would crash the system."

The VJ member Gary_and_Alla frequently reminds everyone that Alla became a citizen a year ago and their case status still reads "initial review."

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Wow I had no clue, I mean since petitioning I've already had 2 updates come through so I just assumed...so good to know thanks! Is it true they update it around the 5th of the month? And also do u think that if u sign up for the txt or email it makes a difference?

The USCIS dates are updated about every 5th of the month

Where'd u hear that?

I signed up for the e-notification thing. I received my text and 2 days later the website showed our case for NOa1. So like the rest have said, it's pretty close, but not 100% real time. :-). Good Luck!!!

I think the 5th of the month date is approximately when they update the "official processing times" graph and information.

Hi everyone,

Its been 201 days since our NOA1 and almost everyday i check on the website for our case status. My fiance called USCIS thursday and he asked for a service request but was told that a form I-797 will be sent to him instead. He called up again and was routed to another rep who told him the same thing.Again he asked for a service request. He asked what it was but the rep wouldn't tell, just told him it could be I-797,or C or E. I'm just wondering though if that USCIS site is updated since it still shows initial review, doesn't make sense to me.

Would they tell you right away if you're approved or not or it should be the tier people who has the capacity to tell you about the status.

I hope somebody could enlighten me about this. Thanks so much and and hoping everyone the best.God bless you all.

It's so strange how there seems to be no pattern to any of this. Our I-130 petition was received on 1/4/2013, got our NOA1 on 1/7/2013 and our case status showed up online right away.

Since then though we've seen no updates and after speaking with a tier 2 rep, our case is still at NBC and has not been touched since.

I am the petitioner.

Same for us...mailed 12/31, NOA1 1/4/13, USCIS website initially inputed but zero movement since the NOA1 date. It is still early though so I am not surprised.
