Soccer fan, you stated the "60 day notice"... can you expand a litle bit on what that is? sorry perhaps i missed a post where the 60 day notice was discussed?

i took this from another vj'er from the previous page....

"Yes, the same thing happened to me. USCIS originally said (online case status update) that my case was sent to local office and then 2 days later the web site said it was sent to a USCIS office. I received a letter in the mail that said our case was sent to Nebraska and a second letter in the same envelope that said we should hear something within 60 days. And, if we don't hear anything, to call the 800 number."

Thanks the 60 day notice I was talking about smile.png

Ok it seems that people on this forum know a lot more than me. Maybe I could ask what I should be waiting for next. We have done everything ourselves, without a lawyer as its too expensive. As I said in an earlier post, my recipt date for the i-130 is feb 27 2013 and we then filed the i-129f (k3) in hopes of speeding up the process and that was a month later in March 2013. Then we heard nothing till our case being transferred. So what letter should I be expecting next?? Will it be an letter saying it's gone to the NVC, and then an approval and then the interview etc etc. What should I be expecting to hear now. basically what are the steps? I see a lot fo you seem to know this however I have not figured that part out and seemed to be surprised constantly.

Thanks

When you send in an I-130 petition, first you get NOA1 which is a notification they got it, then you get NOA2 (approval of petition) and the USCIS transfers your case to the NVC. Then you have to find out NVC case number, beneficiary selects 'agent', some fees have to be paid, petitioner submits affidavit of support with tax transcripts, beneficiary fills in a form (for most countries DS-260 now) and additional packet of documents has to be sent in. When case is complete, they send it to the embassy and there the interview takes place. Beneficiary has to have a medical examination before the interview, too. This is just the short outline. The chart in VJ is a little outdated but gives you a general idea. Also, check out the guides in the Guides section.

I'm the beneficiary.

Want to know what's happening with your case? Here's the USCIS tracking page (get an account and see if the case's been 'touched'!). Don't get your hopes up though, some cases never even appear there despite being successfully processed.

Didn't you get a hard copy mail saying they're supposed to process it within 60 days or something like this when the file was transferred?

I'm the beneficiary.
