Yes, the same thing happened to me. USCIS originally said (online case status update) that my case was sent to local office and then 2 days later the web site said it was sent to a USCIS office. I received a letter in the mail that said our case was sent to Nebraska and a second letter in the same envelope that said we should hear something within 60 days. And, if we don't hear anything, to call the 800 number.

Mine said another USCIS office and then changed to local office. I am filing from Canada so it makes no sense that mine would go to a local office when our address is in Canada. I guess all I can do it wait till we get the paper copy.

i called in today .. our filed was transferred to my local office..automated system when calling in says lee summit but rep said it is indeed the local office. Thinking of making info pass appt.

Was your file transferred last week? Did the Tier 2 tell you for sure it was sent to your local office? Have you received your paper copy? I ask only because I was under the impression that NBC was no longer sending files to local offices and would be instead sending them to other USCIS offices. I got an email last week saying ours was going to another USCIS office, and then the same day to our local office. But, I am filing from abroad so technically I have no local office. So confusing!

I got a letter in the mail saying the same..Transferred to NSC and the 60 day notice. I checked the processing times on USCIS for NSC last week, and there was no entry for i-130. I just checked this morning, and it says processing cases from October 1, 2012. What a bunch of croc.

USCIS:
02/22/2013 - I-130 Sent
11/29/2013 - I-130 Approval Text/email
12/02/2013 - Case Sent to NVC
NVC:
12/23/2013 - Case Received
01/17/2014 - Case Number/IIIN# Assigned
01/29/2014 - AOS and IV invoiced + Paid
02/03/2014- AOS + DS-260 Receipt sent to NVC via FedEx
02/04/2014- NVC received packet
02/28/2014 - Case complete
MUMBAI CONSULATE:
03/18/2014 - Fingerprinting and photos taken
04/01/2014 - Medicals complete
04/11/2014 - Interview!
04/11/2014 - Approved!!
04/16/2014 - Passport ready for pickup at Mumbai consulate(pickup location)

YEAH, WE WILL ALL BE IN "INITIAL REVIEW" AFTER TRANSFER TO LOCAL OFFICE. IT IS NOW UP TO OUR LOCAL OFFICE. WE CAN DO AN INFO PASS WITH THEM AS LONG AS YOU HAVE THE NOTIFICATION THAT THEY HAVE RECEIVED YOUR FILE. LIKE WHAT THE TIER2 OFFICER TOLD ME 2WKS AGO, IT COULD TAKE UP TO 16MOS, DEPENDING HOW FAST THE LOCAL OFFICE PROCESS I-130. AND THAT'S THE REASON I FILED I-129F (FREE ANYWAY, IF FILED AFTER I-130), SO I COULD HAVE MY FAMILY HERE SOONER THAN 16MOS. HOPEFULLY....

Want to know what's happening with your case? Here's the USCIS tracking page (get an account and see if the case's been 'touched'!). Don't get your hopes up though, some cases never even appear there despite being successfully processed.

My file was transferred on the 24th.. When I call tier 2 rep confirmed , and when she looked up processing time for that location she said there is no processing time updates as of yet.. I also tried to schedule an info pass appointment online and ... No Luck!! got this message "At this time, there are no information appointments available for the office in your area. Please try back again later."sleepy.gif

I think you'd be better off waiting till hard copy of the notification arrives. Then you at least know where the file is. So far people whose petitions were transferred were reporting transfers to Nebraska/Texas, so it might not be the local office after all.

I'm the beneficiary.
