Hi everyone,

I'm very new to this forum but have looked at it in the past to get some ideas as to what could be holding up this whole process. I married an American in Feb this year, that same month we file our i-130, once we received our noa we file for the i-129f to speed up everything and get to NY quicker. We were both living in Dubai at the time of our application and I'm from Australia, we filed it though in the US. Thinking that I would be legalised to move to the Us by July we packed up and moved to NY, where I am currently on a tourist visa which my 90 days runs out end of Nov and then I'm off to Australia to wait it out.

Its been a long process and we have not heard about either application. I think my priority date is Feb 27th as thats my receipt date on my noa. For the K3 i 129f our receipt date is March 25 2013. Thats the one that has left me dumbfounded as I have not heard a peep about it since the noa back in march this year. When ringing the call centre (which i would rather pull out my teeth then deal with those useless conversations that give me no answers) they can provide no info on the k3. The last time I rang we were able to speak to a tier 2 I think it's called rep about the greencard in which she said that its an 8 month wait to hear something and we are in our 7 month. However counting from Feb we are clearly in the 8 month mark.

Now the update, a letter arrived yesterday saying our case has been transferred to nebraska, finally something to say that something is actually happening. However from what I gathered this might not be a good thing also. in fact I can't work it out, I noticed people who got transfers a coupke months back were approved within a month some even a week. But now I am reading that people are being told its a 16 month wait!?

The thing is, is that we also have applied for our k3 way back in march and even that is not helping anything so I dont know what to think. Also is there a difference between a citizen and a PR apply for their spouse? Mine is a citizen.

Anyway any info you could share would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

everyone here is getting transferred. My case, however, is still at the NBC. Another call to USCIS and I am told that cases are handled in the order they are received. I cannot tell you if yours is being actively worked, and when I point out March filers taht are approved, I am told every case is different. So these 3 things are not congruent! Idiots!

For those of you that have been transferred and now know where your file is (Nebraska, Texas) did you get a notice from USCIS saying your file ws sent to "your local office"? Still trying to see if this was a mistake and the files are all indeed going to service centers not local offices.

Very much disappointed with US immigration. we started with 5 months wait. then updated to 8 months, then to 12 months. Now its 16 months !!

What makes worse is the USCIS reply over phone like no one bothered about applicants family or anything... We all here have no option than to ONLY WAIT till everything happens. The entire i-130 system is highly complicated and messed, for us to get proper information.

Vermont received 3/14/16

Bio-metrics 4/12/16

i-751 Approved 2/28/17

Yes, the same thing happened to me. USCIS originally said (online case status update) that my case was sent to local office and then 2 days later the web site said it was sent to a USCIS office. I received a letter in the mail that said our case was sent to Nebraska and a second letter in the same envelope that said we should hear something within 60 days. And, if we don't hear anything, to call the 800 number.

I received the same info. The case status feature online first said it was transferred to local office then it said it was sent to a uscis office. Over the weekend I received correspondence that it was transfered to nebraska. Who knows if that is the case..

Same here... 3 emails on consecutive days then the hard copy stating we were transferred to Nebraska. The USCIS Website says 11 months for processing time, but I am hoping that they stick to the 60 days as stated on the supplement letter. Which now that I think about it.... it would put us at 11 months from NOA1! (FEB - DEC)

I'm not going to hold my breath with anything they say. This whole process has been a nightmare for me and probably many other people as well. I know everything in life is a waiting game but this government agency should have enough manpower to process these things in timely manner. Good luck to everyone out here, hoping by Christmas we will get the best gift ever , our approval letter.
