Of coarse I have been waiting almost eight months here. Do you think I should hire a lawyer to help with my cr 1 visa process?

for what? you already did the hard part... A lawyer can't help you wait... unless you have a special circumstance... you would probably be wasting your money.

So I wondering? Does everyone feel like the Feb filers are at the field offices waiting and March, April and some May filers are at Lee's Summit?

The may 6th filer was adjudicated at Lee's Summit in MO. That killed the theory of May filers going to Overland Park.

I can't understand how September is apprvoed before all of us and I can't understand how May is before April

Just trying to understand what the heck they are doing ...

Hi all,

I am in my 7th month now. I called USCIS yesterday, and they finally put in a service request. Tier 2 said same thing...MSC is backlogged. Its not at the field office. Still at MSC. Check back in a month. It was "touched" sept 12th" blah blah blah.

I hired a lawyer and he contacted them today and here is the email i got from him:

We just got off the phone with an immigration officer to get an update.
The National Benefits Center where your wife's I-130 petition is being processed is currently back logged.
The usual processing time of 6 to 6 and a half months is now around 9 months.
The officer said they are currently working on I-130 petitions they received on January 13th, 2013.
They received your wife's petition on February 25, 2013.

Hopefully we will get an answer in the next 2 months.

Hope this helps fellow VJers. The line about them processing jan 13 applications was positive. But what is the processing time, as in how long will it be before they get to feb 25th? This is a bunch of BS. I keep on getting different answers everytime I call.

Jan13? Really? There are people from march april may sept is getting approval. PD is useless. To me it looks like they are processing in random order

I was told by the senators office that PD doesn't matter because there is unlimited visa for spouses. And at first I thought she was talking ####### because there had to be some sort of order to processing these files... right? but now it makes sense... maybe she was right.... the approvals are all over the place with no rhyme or reason.

The priority date really only matters when the visas are limited.. so then it becomes first come, first serve..

We received the hardcopy in mail today, but when I entered the MSC # on USCIS case status, it says we mailed it out on 27 Sept so I suppose that's the day it was approved. Also, we didn't receive any e-mail, and our case-status was not shown on the website until today (after it was approved). I think I checked last week and it said case not found.
