I got NOTHING. But I had filed for electronic notification, so my case status shows online, still in "Initial Review". I have decided to just be patient and I will not call USCIS Customer service until 3rd or last week of October. I see other Feb. filers got their NOA-2 seven months after NOA-1.

But in your case, because you are not able to see your case status online, I suggest you call USCIS to inquire. Please let me know what they tell u, I'd be curious, since we have the same priority date.

Regards!

If patience was sold by the pound, I'd buy a metric ton!

Hi,

I am also a Feb filer with priority date on 2/26.

I just called USCIS and they said, it is been touched 2 weeks back and waiting to get assigned to an officer. it haven't been transferred to local office yet. They said I can expect an approval by 1 st week of October.

God know how it is going to be.

Also, it looks like it takes about 3 months to get teh visa after NOA 2 approval. So hope to bring my wife here by the end of this year...

Vinny

I just received this e-mail from my senator's office.

Thank you for your correspondence regarding the status of your I-130. My office received a response to our inquiry with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services and was informed of the following on Thursday, September 12, 2013:

"A review of our systems shows that Case MSC XX XXX XXXXX, Form I-130 filed by (Wife) on behalf of (Husband) was received in our office on 02/21/2013 and is currently pending. At this time, the stand-alone Immediate Relative Form I-130 petitions are being sent to the NBC for transition to the local field office of jurisdiction for adjudication. Due to the current workload at the field offices, our current processing time for I-130 applications is approximately 9-12 months "

And, of course I had to vent so I sent a response to my senator's office:

Thank you for this information concerning my husband's petition. Of course this information is disappointing because we have waited so long. We left Barbados in July 2012 and I have seen my husband a total of 2 weeks during that time. My husband and I have two, small children (ages 2 and 6) and this process has been extremely hard on our family. Now, it appears, that it might take two years for our family to be reunited.

This situation is unacceptable. I paid a fee ($420) to have my husband's petition reviewed and while I didn't expect our case to be approved overnight, I would expect it to be looked at within a reasonable timeframe. If you visit the VisaJourney web site, you can see that K-1 filers (Fiance's petitions) are being processed much quicker while married persons with families are now taking 9-12 months just for an I-130 approval.

I really hope that the backlog at USCIS is being brought to Senator Warren's attention. I voted for her and the delays at USCIS are devastating families.

08/01/2012 - 01/01/2013: Talked to various lawyers; saved for lawyer filing fee - complete waste of time.

02/01/2013: Found VisaJourney

02/14/2013: Mailed paperwork to Chicago Lockbox

This is just disappointing. They are saying 9-12 months now, what is next up to two years? It didn't even take them 48 hours to cash in my check of 420$ but when it comes to providing service for that money they will take as much time as they desire.

I will not let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty feet.

It is disappointing but I am trying to remain hopeful that our petition (and others) will be approved much sooner.

LOL. Yes, they did cash our checks quickly, didn't they? LOL

Ana, that is so strange. I just said the same thing to a co-worker about them wanting us to give up on our spouses and thinking that your loved one is just an "immigrant" and don't have a sense of family. This whole process is so difficult on families. There is a petition out there ( I didn't create it but I support it) that I posted to my Facebook page and I asked family and friends to sign it. I don't know if siging it will make a difference but iI figured it couldn't hurt to sign.

Can you fill out your timeline? It is useful for predicted dates and for others to compare to.

Hopefully they will hurry up with your application. Looks like the NVC is taking longer than the I-130s used to take to process.

Time line updated for you all :)

NVC requested another I-864 saying it wasnt dated when it truly was as we have an attorney and she double checked it was on original and she rang them up and spoke with a supervisor. Even still im sure she sent another one in . Also they wanted it in writing why my husband had asked for an extension on filing his tax's.

He wrote and signed and dated it and they received it today ~ so here go's back to the waiting board again i surpose of another 20 business days !!!! :(

In my opinion i think they just request these things so they have more time !!!

When my file was at my local office, I also wrote my senators. I was disappointed when I received the exact same letter...indicating I would have to wait 9-12 months. I was so disappointed. However, 2 weeks later I found out I was approved and received the first approval letter from the director of the field office. It' possible if yours is at a field office the same could occur as they don't feel like dealing with senators inquiring about cases. Keep hoping!

Hi Kmg617,

Thank you for that information. I hope you are right that the 9-12 months' delay news is a way for USCIS to get senators to back off a bit. I hope that we get the same results as you and hear something in the next few weeks.
