I filed my petition February 26, 2013 and still no update. I just called the uscis this morning and they told me they sent out a letter to me informing me possibly another 6 more months. I can not believe what these people are doing to me. I am thinking i will go wait in the philippines with my wife this december. I hope and pray something will happen soon...

they sent me a letter too answering my service request(haven't received it yet) i just hope they don't say the same thing to wait another 6 months.

For the guys that are saying NBC told then 6 more months, did you apply for a k3 visa after sending your i130?

I did and was approved days after my i130 and made it to the nvc where it was cancelled because they had my i130 approved.

I'm lucky I was not in the extra 6 month process but if I were I'm sure the k3 would have been helpful.

You should send the k3 application just in case.

RogerL, are you a US filer or overseas? I do not believe K3 will help, probably it will further delay the processing. You were very lucky to be approved so soon and best wishes.

Thanks, here is the thread that had the discussion about the K3. It is a personal experience of the member but it does make a lot of sense.

Yes this is what I read after I filed for the K3 and it bothered me. Hard to know the right path, But I think I have done everything I can. Alot of guessing and mis-information here. Stems from the USICS mis-information and too short of answers to alot of members.

Well Not sure if I want to base my desitions on a single guy experience, In my experience It did not affect, I called the Embassy and they said that yes they have been issuing K3 visas and they were not obsolete. I always check for advise and saw that posts, but based on what the embassy told me I decided to give it a try and did not affect. But again that's just me, always go with my gut and better be safe than sorry.. Good luck to you all, I recommend writing to your congressman for that extra 67 month waiting period makes no sense.

congrats on your approval. The most frustrating thing about this process is the lack of feedback from the government on what is happening. If they would break the process down in to the individual components and let you knwo when one was done I think it would not be as bad for me at least. Like if I knew they had processed the background checks but were still waiting on tax documents or whatever... oh well this is what happens when governemtn is in charge of something. All the power with no responsibility...

FYI: I was just looking through the other Forums and happened to come across this post:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/424498-april-2013-i-130-filers/?p=6436538

From my other research, seems like after they started transferring standalone I-130s to NBC, they ran out of resources. Hence, they built a brand new facility in Overland Park, KS and they were going to hire 800 new employees. See the link for info: http://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/news/2012/11/13/us-citizenship-and-immigration.html?page=all

Hopefully its not a 12 month wait..that's simply RIDICULOUS!
