My case has sat at the NVC since June 3rd and they still haven't given me a NVC number. When I called today the agent suggested that I had at least one more week to wait. I asked him why they stopped working and he said he didn't have that information. He could only say that it's taking approximately 8 weeks to do the initial in-processing.

Going to be 6 months exactly on 29 July for us. Looking to make an infoPass, but it says "No information appointments available at this time". Does this happen frequently? What to do now? I hope I'm choosing the right option "Service on a File that's already filed". Also, should we place a Service Request before going for the infoPass?

It took me a good 2 weeks of continuous attempts to get my infopass. keep trying..10 times a day if u have to.

We got our NOA1 on Feb. 22nd, have not recieved anything else and online still shows initial interview. Will call when I get home from work to check where it is at.

I am in same situation as you. Please let us know whet they tell you. All I know is that normal average waiting time from NOA1 to NOA2 is 6 months.

I've been MIA on this thread for quite sometime because it makes me upset seeing all the people complaining about timeframe of NVC and interviews when many of us haven't received NOA2 yet. There's other threads for people who are at this stage in their process. So, please be considerate of us who are still waiting. When I receive my NOA2, I will definitely have a happy dance and post on here once just informing my NOA2, and then I'll move onto the NVC threads.

I try not to login very much because I'm getting impatient waiting for the NOA2. Mine is at the DC field office. Had 2 InfoPass appointments already. Trying to stay positive but it's hard at this stage almost at 6 months. Hoping we all get some good news soon!

I have scheduled an info pass for Aug the 9th. It will be 6 months waiting on Aug 4. Does anyone know if they actually do tell anything at the info pass? Is it the same general info that they give you when you call customer service?

Thanks

At the infopass they can tell you the exact date when ur case was received at the loc office. they can tell u if ur case is being worked on right now or still sitting in the pile.

Well it seems I am in the same position as many of you still here smile.png NOA1 Feburary 25th, still nothing. I will need to check infopass etc... as I have not heard of that. I was told to just wait and calling etc will not help, and might even slow it down.

Thanks everyone, it is something at least to know your not in hell alone wink.png

Bill

OH yea. When I say I have heard nothing, that is exactly what I mean, no local field office, no transfers etc...

I got my NOA1 on Feb 20 and have called in a couple of times. 2 months ago, the Tier 2 rep said to wait until the 5 month mark because that was the average. So I called in again this past week. I had a fight with a Tier 2 person cause she basically said that I was lying and that it was 6 months, that the rep I talked to last time was wrong and I shouldn't be bothering her. She (along with everyone else) insists that my file is in MSC and has definitely not been sent to a field office. She said 'why would it be sent to a local field office? It would take longer and they'd only send it there if you had to interview or something.' Then again, at the beginning of the call; after she confirmed all the information (including birthdates for my husband and myself) she said 'so, you're petitioning for your mother?' My thought was 'ya, my mother had me when she was 8 and has a middle name of William.' All in all, not overly optimistic about the knowledgableness of the Tier 2 rep I talked to (I'd much prefer an 'I don't know' to a fabrication) but that's where I'm at.

My NOA1 is FEB 25th. I called and talked to a Tier2. Its been 5 months and she told me that its in process and average times right now are 6 months or could be even longer. The one thing she did tell me that I haven't heard the other times I called is: apparently background checks are running 30-45 days behind and that's why the average wait times are higher. And she said my case hasn't come back from the check. Oh well, I don't even know why I bother to call anymore. I was thinking of doing a service request..would this be advisable? And what would this give me?

Go ahead if you'd like to. i have submitted 2 service requests and did not receive any response for it yet. I spoke with Tier 2 today. They said NBC is where the delays are in processing currently.
