Hello folks, today my wife talked to a tier 2 agent and he said that our case was transferred to Newark local office on June 7, and after or within 60 days she will get a replay. Also she made an InfoPass appointment on the next week to know what's happening.

So why did it take about 3.5 months to be transferred to the local office? what does that mean? and what is the estimate date for that case?

Newark field office seems too busy:

Hi all,

I am a February 2013 filer and was under the impression that my case was sent to the National Benefits Center (It stated this on my NOA1 and I have an "MSC" number). I called USCIS today and the customer service rep stated that my petition was forwarded to the Vermont Service Center. She didn't give me a date as to when this forwarding took place.

I was under the impression that some I-130s are getting processed at NBC, while others are going to the petitioners local field offices. I was trying to find out if my petition was sent to my local office (Philly) so I could get a better idea of a timeline, but this news that it's at VSC kind of took me off guard.

Has anyone else who filed in February had this experience of being transferred from NBC to another service center? I haven't heard of this happening and want to make sure this rep hasn't given me inaccurate info. The processing times for VSC look horrible :(.

Hi, an April filer here, but am keeping my eyes on other people's approvals! Just wanted to say that it's normal for your file to get forwarded to a local office. Most do actually. There are some exceptions to that rule - e.g when the USC spouse lives abroad and is filing from abroad they don't have a local office in the US, so they process it at NBC. So don't panic :)

I called USCIS the other day, spoke with a Tier 2 specialist (5th time so far), started to tell me that I was transferred to a local office, then stated that nope that wasn't the case. Has anyone else had any experiences like this where you get a different answer every time. I'm beyond just irritated and stressed about this whole process.

I am an early March filer and I was told exactly that. I was so confused and then made and infoPass appt. and was told that my file is most likely be getting processed at NBC not at local field office (I am not an overseas filer).

I also made a thread: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/440253-i-am-puzzled/

Mine will be fully 5 months on the 22nd here, I'm just as puzzled as you on the whole thing, I read your thread and that's what's been happening to me. Seems like they enjot jerking us around in all directions. These Tier 2 specialists don't care, and I truly believe we are all just a number to them. I haven't seen my husband in 5 months, don't know how much longer it'll be, and they don't care or try to understand. That's why I'm frustrated. At least be consistent with what you say. It's not alright for them to jerk us around like this. I know everyone's case is different. It depends on their case load and whatnot and all of these other factors they don't want to share with us. Who knows, but they really don't care to help us or ease our minds. This has got to be one of the toughest things to deal with. Hope you are having some better luck with this whole thing.

I agree, they either don't tell us the truth or maybe we are just being impatient...I don't know which one is true.

Well I know I'm very impatient...but from this type of organization I'd appreciate to know the truth. Why do they give us a customer service number for if they don't provide us any customer service?? oops8rh.gif
