After getting congressman involved everything started moving super fast. File was sent to NVC they assigned case the following day. 3 days after I got the AOS Bill and the email asking me to send the Choose of Agent Form.

The guy at the congressman office sent me an email he got from the person at the NVC that was doing follow up to my case, they were all over it. I'm glad i reached Congressman

Did you go directly to the congressman's office or did you e-mail/phone him?

I called his local office, asked who was the person handling the immigration cases. Got his name, email and phone number.

Sent him all via email and he replied back with the privacy form I needed to fill out.

Then I emailed him the completed form, a motivational letter with my request and facts, a timeline of events, and copy of my NOA.

Followed up with a phone call to make sure he got it.

Followed up with him a week after .

Also everything I emailed I also sent via regular email to the congressman offices, 2 local offices and his Washington office. Wanted to make sure :)

RogerL: What do we write to the congressman? I mean is there a specific template that one needs to follow. I am a May (I-130) filer, just being pro-active in case I need to engage my congressman.

Also, how long one should wait before we reach out to the congressman?

Don't post often but thought I would update the February filers. Noa 1 date February 7 got the email on Friday saying I-130 approved. I live in NYC but never called to ask if application was transferred from nbc to local field office. Waiting for the noa 2 hard copy in the mail. Honestly was not expecting to hear anything for another couple of months. Good luck to the rest of you still waiting.
