I had the same exact ques in mind. But its soo strange cuz people always goes on about how overloaded ny local office is, whereas theres hardly any vj members there.

So impatient me decided to call USCIS yesterday to check the status on my case. I filed 02/22/13 with NOA1 of 02/25/2013. Ofcourse Tier1 was no help and transferred me to Tier2. Ironically the Tier2 rep was Indian!

Q. I don't see my case online..Whats going on?

A. Let me see..give me your details..your spouses' details..verification info..ah..i see it. yep..it shows active in our system. It wont show online because there is some issue with the online system and USCIS is aware.

Q. Follow up, well, its been a few months, you guys have been aware, but nothing has been done, why hasn't it been fixed?

A. Sir, as I said again USCIS is aware and it shows that your case is active, so shouldn't be a problem.

Q. What is the status of my case? Will it be transferred to the Phoenix field office? Is it currently being worked on? Is it on somone's desk?

A. NBC's current processing time is 4-6 months for I-130. And yours is in process and only been close to 3.5 months, so wait till mid July and I am pretty sure you will hear something back. ( I then asked whether it will be in PHX field office so i can take an infopass appt to be updated on status) Is your spouse living abroad? (I said yes) and he said then it won't be transferred, only if they need to interview anyone, then its normally transferred to a field office.

And that was it.. I guess I knew the answers, but I just decided to call anyways..Good luck to us all FEB filers for a quick approval!

It seems like that Tier 1 guy never transferred you to the Tier2. A second level Officer is able to see case location and all information in DB.
