nope :) just a regular filing.. I highly recommend you get an infopass and go check up on your file with an immigration officer

have you gone to the local office to inquire about the status??? you should

I just made an appointment for next week at the Cleveland Ohio field office to speak with an immigration officer.....How much do you think they can help me? Can they help to expedite things for me? Can they give me advice about what actions to take and answer general immigration questions? The phone people just answer with scripted responses will they just do the same thing?

I would not worry about the time frame USCIS gave you. It all depends on your local field office work load. Where is the city that you live in? This will give you a better idea of how long the wait will be.

I am going to a info. pass appointment this week. I will let ya know if it helps.

I hope it does I just made an appointment...I called USCIS and they told me my I-130 is being processed by NBC and they do not give out an estimated time....

I live in Orange, California. Nearest office I think is Santa Ana or Los Angeles? How can we check about nearest office?

Thanks!

this will be an immigration officer.. generate as many questions as you can in advance, cuz these are the people with the real answers.. as for an expedite, doubtful unless you already started that and meet all the criteria, but they will be able to tell you more about the status and the like. sometimes they will share with you what date they are working on.. when I went, I learned that my case was touched a little over two weeks prior. when I asked does touch mean it went from one shelf to another or touch means it went from the shelf into the workflow, he stated with a smile, yes it is in the workflow.. that was pretty much all I wanted to hear so a few more questions and I left.. two weeks later.. approved (I am sure it had nothing to do with going there though)

yes, there will be little to no information at an infopass appointment if your file stayed at nbc.. but very few are kept there, they have sent most 130's from nbc out to local offices which you can only find out about by first calling and speaking with an io

I just called USCIS and they told me that my I-130 filed on Feb 20 is being processed in NBC. There is not an estimation of completion time, nor could they tell me any information about if it was in work flow or even being touched. He also wouldn't answer any questions of any kind about processing times. I asked very directly if it would be transferred to my local field office. He said that there was a small possibility. Do you think my infopass apt. will be a waste of time?

If your file isn't at the local office where you made the infopass, there's really no point in going. They usually get your file out or at least look it up in their system when you go in for an infopass, so if yours isn't in the building, I doubt they'll give you any information.

just wanted to share that i too called to follow up since i havent seen any updates online. My priority date is feb 25, and tier 2 IO said my case is pending and is still at NBC and has not been transferred to any local office. (Im from Las Vegas). He did tell me the processing time is 6months to 1 year, which makes me think of filing for 129F now... nothing to lose, even if it is obsolete.

it seems i see more and faster approvals of 129f than cr-1's at least here in vj forums

12/18/2012 - date of marriage

2/22/2013 - i-130 (stand alone)package sent to phoenix lockbox (from Nevada)

2/27/2013 - Email notification received w/ MSC# and routed to National Benefits Center

2/25/2013 - Priority date on NOA1

2/27/2013 - NOA1 Notice Date

3/02/2013 - Received NOA1 hard copy

5/21/2013 -USCIS WEBSITE FINALLY SHOWED "INITIAL REVIEW"

6/14/2013- contacted Senator Reid

6/18/2013- received phone call from Sen. Reid's office acknowledging receipt of my letter. They will follow up with USCIS and will call me again in a few days.

.. Sen Reid's Ofc informed me of backlog and was told to wait 6 months.

10/2013- reached out to Cong. Heck.. they informed me my file will be transferred to a local ofc.

10/23- true enough it was transferred to NSC.

10/24- website updated to post decision activity

10/25- website updated to initial review

highly doubtful it will take more than six months... I would call back in 2-3 weeks and check again.. 99% are sent out to local offices at some point
