Here s my optimism for the day though inside I am tearing my hair out!

I have a feeling yours will be the first of the february filers to be approved. Marriage over 2 years, lived together abroad, have children (edit: Stepchildren. I wonder if that makes a difference).. yup, my bet: 43 days. :)

I dont know if you read the thread by a former adjudicater, but he did say that group petitions (spouse and children) got approved faster.

There is a big HOWEVER: the children are mine from a previous relationship!

BUT the biological Dad is not in Contact and has never paid child maintenance since we separated 7 years ago...

Another plus is that I am a qualified Modern Foreign Language Teacher (French, Italian and English) so I can teach pretty much anywhere :)

Let's hope it ll be a quick'un!

I dont know if you read the thread by a former adjudicater, but he did say that group petitions (spouse and children) got approved faster.

I hope that's true - I filed for my wife and step kids all at once.

November 27, 2012 - Married
February 01, 2013 - Mailed I-130 for wife and step kids
February 04, 2013 - Delivered to Phoenix Lock Box
February 08, 2013 - NOA1

May 28, 2013 - InfoPass at Dallas Field Office - Case assigned to an officer and now on her desk to be worked

June 01, 2013 - NOA2 for my wife but the kids had an RFE issued. (day 54 from NOA1)

June 01, 2013 - December 19, 2013 - Case "lost" at the Dallas Field Office
December 19, 2013 - mailed to NVC
January 08, 2014 - NVC received case
February 06, 2014 - NVC assigned case numbers

In the meantime, I woke up to find out we ve got our NOA1s, it s also our daughter's 10th birthday today!

Thanks to Visa Journey members for the wealth of information at this site. Every question I've had while preparing my I-130 has been found via a quick search of the archives. Now here's to hoping that the process is just as easy.

I received a text early this morning that my I-130 was received by USCIS and a hard copy of the NOA1 is on its way. Best birthday present I could get today. Good luck to you all!

I agree with you there! I don't know how people filed for this stuff prior to visa journey. The USCIS website is not very helpful and it's confusing.

My husband realized that the "missing" documents had been there all along. Husband immediately mailed it back.

We filed from abroad (via a US immigration attorney) on Feb 4th, FedEx overnight, received NOA1 by email on Feb 7th.

Case was sent to Chicago Lockbox and routed to NBC.

My wife and I (I am USC) live in Ireland, have been married for 1 year, have lived together in Ireland for about 6 years - package included photos, leases, foreign joint bank account statements, etc. Am hoping for an auto-expedite that I've read about.

We are in the same situation! Really hoping the same, we got our NOA1 on 2/5...fingers crossed!

I had looked for the February 2013 Filers and could not find it! I thought it was weird that no one had started it yet..

Anyhoo, I sent in my I-130 on the 5th of February.. still waiting on NOA1, but since I sent it via regular mail I expect it to still be a few more days.

Me and my husband are living in Spain (filed from abroad), have been living together for a year now. Got married in Jan 2013. Hoping for a speedy approval! Seeing so many expedited abroal approvals really has my hopes up! (Hoping I dont come back here in 5 months time to laugh at my post)
