yaay, I knew you'd be approved soon! congrats!!

Now we get to wait some more for the case to be received and to get the case number.. woohoo.. I cant believe it takes around a month :bonk:

It has been one very stressful time and will continue to be, hopefully the NVC is a little more bothered than the USCIS.

I shall be waiting to read from you as soon as you get your case number, I shall get mine a few days after you :)

Are you aiming at getting there ASAP or are you planning for a little later?

Hey guys, congrats oh your approvals :)

Should I be concerned that every number next to mine has been approved, and yet when I check online mine STILL hasn't been touched since Febuary 8th? I'm MSCXXXXXXX55 and 53,54,56,57,58 have ALL been approved?!?! Aren't we all in the same queue?!?!?!?!

Hi Jenny,

I don't think we're in the same queue, ours also end 54,55 and 56 and have all been approved.

We went through my husband's Senator as we had some real trouble getting some sense out of the USCIS who tried to dissuade us to expedite the case (my son's autism worsening is not a valid enough reason according to them). The Senator called 04/01, on 04/02 my case was available online and on 04/03 our cases got approved.

Just because you have similar numbers doesn't mean you're going to get approved in that order. Some people from December get approved before people from August, people from February are getting approved while there are still July cases waiting - there's no order to the approvals. My case is from the beginning of July, and when I check the online status of numbers around mine, some got approved in September, others in December, some STILL haven't been approved, and others already have had their green cards shipped out to them. The online status will probably continue to read "initial review" for a while longer, unfortunately. Just sit back and try to be patient. good.gif

I just called the NVC, they received my packet on the 1st of April. The woman told me to allow 20 days from the date of reception before they assign a case number.

I just call uscis and talk to tier 2 customer service. I was told my case is still at national benefit center. Is this normal? It's been 45 days.. she said there is a possibility my case will be process by NBC instead of local office.. hmmm has anyone case transferred yet to local office?

Lots of people take 60+ days to be transferred.

Should I call and pester them now ?

I don't see a reason to do it unless your case in really unusual or something. Calling the "misinformation" line is pretty useless.

Oh sorry i forgot to answer this! Yes, i'll be posting as soon as I get it :) I'm doing a masters program here in Spain, which ends at the end of June, so I have to stay here until then, which is almost perfect because that's three months from now and I'm assuming I still have 4 months till I get the visa... so it will really only be one month of extra waiting. Of course if I somehow get the visa in three months that would be fantastic.

I know you're trying to get there as soon as possible right? I was sorry to hear about your kid and how they don't "have time for him" at his school :( I hope you get your visa quickly
