Some people are never able to see their cases online, and some can a week after their NOA1. It really varies case to case, but it's no reason to get worried. It's a little inconvenient, but you can always call and get updates, and at this stage they'll also snail mail you any correspondance you would've gotten online, anyway - it'll just take a bit longer.

USC who lived in Manabí, Ecuador with hubby from 2009 - 2013. Hubby became a naturalized American citizen in August 2016. Currently living together in northern Virginia.

I don't where I should post this since I started in the thread of the january filers (we sent my application on the 29th of january but got the NOA1 on the 7th of february).

Let's say I'm a february filer :) I just got an update on the USCIS website ; my petition was approved on the 18th of march. It passed directly from initial review to post-decision activity.

We both live abroad so I guess we got the auto-expedite. It only took 39 days !

I hope you will all get your NOA2 fast. It seems they just started to work on the february petitions :D

Yes I just realised that :( ... unfortunately I'm here in England whilst he's sitting in sunny Texas ... so I probably have a while to go ...

Does anyone know where NBC are up to on non DCF applications?

It will perhaps take a little longer but you are DCF so it should be faster than Embassy based applications.

At then end of2012, a friend of mine (from England) got his IR1 within 3,5 months whilst his wife had already gone to the States to settle in.

Everything at NBC is a non-DCF application.

And you cannot judge anything by "NBC"

It's really all about local offices.

It will perhaps take a little longer but you are DCF so it should be faster than Embassy based applications.

You misread and/or are misinformed/misunderstanding something.

They are not DCF.

Nothing is faster than embassy based applications.

Thank you. I know it's tough especially when you are far from your love. Hope you'll get approved very soon (F)

Yup I remember  It seems that "40-50 days" is basically the timeline for most people living abroad together. You have a lot of chances to get your NOA2 during the following weeks I think B-)

Congrats to y'all who have been approved! This may be a weird question, but in terms of the auto-expedite, can anyone think of a reason why an overseas filer might not get processed quickly, barring mistakes or an RFE or whatever? I live in Australia with my husband and we've been married for four years and we have a baby, so I'd like to think our case is pretty cut and dry, but I guess you never know.

I only ask because I called USCIS today and they gave me the whole five month spiel and that my case will be transferred to a field and so on, which I guess is what they say to everyone. I was just wondering if, in everyone's experience/readings on here, the auto-expedite thing seemed to be across the board or kind of random-ish. I just wanted to start to temper my expectations and not expect an NOA2 in a couple weeks if it is indeed random!

If the case is normal and there are no mistakes made, it seems to be a pretty consistent thing. Our case has taken longer despite filing from abroad, but we had complications at the beginning with our address, so I wouldn't count ours as normal. One thing to take into account, though - if you listed your foreign address on the I-130, NBC should NOT be transferring it to a local field office. This happened to another member who filed from Denmark, and that started a huge spiraling problem that ended with her having to refile at the London embassy. Field offices don't process foreign petitions, so if you filed from abroad your case should stay at NBC for processing. Just keep an ear out to make sure it's not mistakenly shipped off to a local office, because that could be the beginning of a series of complications.

To those who have received their approvals already -- a massive congratulations to you :D

Even though this is going to sound like a rants(because it is) please do not take any offence those of you who have received or will probably get an auto expedite because of living abroad with your spouse. I know it's not your choice and really, getting your NOA2 quickly is a joy anyone should be happy about but I'm starting to get really pissed off at this system. Why on earth should those people abroad applying for an I-130 get processed quicker than the rest of us because their spouse is living with them outside the US? It is so totally unfair!! All the rest of us are separated from the ones we love for months and months waiting for the NOA2 to arrive and those people lucky enough to still be living with their loved ones get their approved quicker?! It is just so unfair! Ours should be processed quicker, not theirs, they are not the ones desperate to see their brand new husband after months of separation because they cannot afford the airfare for a quick trip, they get to see each other every day! Why do they get auto expedited?!

Sorry, I know it's not you all personally so please do not take this as a personal attack and attack me for it, I'm just so fed up with reading comments here and on the January and December filers boards (who I stalk) of all these bloody auto-expedite cases when the USC and the beneficiary are still living with one another!!!! It's so unfair!! :'(

Good luck to you all to get speedy NOA2's :) sorry for the rant!!!!

Ok, cool, thanks for telling me to watch out for that! Hopefully it was just the boilerplate stuff he was spouting off to me and not specific to my case. I sort of worry I didn't send enough evidence and that might cause an RFE, but we've been married a while and we have a baby and I'm pretty sure Oz is a low fraud country, so hopefully it will all be ok. It's good to know the auto-expedite is the general trend, though, so I can start pestering USCIS if I don't get an NOA2 in the next few weeks. Thanks again for your help!
