I talked to the USCIS on Friday, it turns out that their web portal is not working (according to the ISO - Tier2). I was calling to check on the status of my service request that was not showing up in my account at all. He said that the group that is responsible for the web portal is not tied so close to those that are processing the applications, so don't be surprised if your case has cleared some hurdle and there is no update. Take it for what it's worth. But since I am a numbers kind of guy, I ran some stats from VJ data to get a clear picture of what is happening (at least in the CSC). Here is some fun :( figures for you:

I wanted to see (without military expedite) what the real cases are doing since we filed in August:

(I removed any cases that had less than 60d from NOA1 - NOA2)

Month Received Completed AvgDays %Complete

Jun'12 106 96 105 91%

Jul'12 108 60 150 56%

Aug'12 119 4 170 3.4%

Sep'12 91 1 ###

Bear in mind that the VJ data aren't gospel -- not everyone who's approved updates his timeline.

OP, if your address is correct in the USCIS records, your mail should be deliverable; if the carrier is unreliable, caucus with the Postmaster of your station.

Incidentally, in my petition days, I asked an IO about the reliability of the status updates; he said that if USCIS updated every case every time there was a change, it would crash their system.

Edited to add: The 7 most annoying words in the English language (and far more poisonous than anything that USCIS could do to you) are "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!"

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Its funny, I am both happy and sad that others go have felt my same frustration. Happy that I know that the USCIS is not just out to make me wait forever.... but sad that they are out to make everyone wait forever (unless you live overseas and your wait is almost nothing it seems)

One of the most annoying parts of this is that we are paying for this service.. its not free. Can you imagine if you had paid hundreds or thousands of dollars for a service in the private sector how you would be calling every advocate/newsgroup/tv station on how insane it would be for a company to do this... but since its the government there isnt really anything you can do

I hope we all get our approvals soon

I know, isn't it sickening? It took 9 months for my petition to be approved from USCIS..plus I had to fly from Australia to America for an interview that wasn't even required, they messed up our case big time. Finally, this morning we found out that my husband's interview is March 12. Keep hanging in there.. it will end someday! Have you called USCIS? Not that anyone who works there knows anything...

Oh so people REALLY WORK there?

If you're going by the self-reported timelines, there are people who just never filled theirs out to show that they completed processing. If you're going by forum members, the earliest I saw was someone in June, but you may know of someone even earlier whose I-130 hasn't been processed yet.

headbonk.gifActually it was from Igor's timeline, which may be taken from self reported info, I am really not sure and my apologies it was for the k-1 and not the 130.
