I understand. I also know the feeling is not going to change when your status changes. I got my NOA2 according to VJ estimates and I was really excited for a day, and from then on I'm waiting for nvc to receive the case, send the case, then getting an interview date which is likely going to take 2 months, then getting the passport back (if hopefully there arent any complications). The waiting and the dread is not going to end till im on the plane flying :)

Hope you feel better. I find the only thing that helps is to not think about it (i fail constantly but it helps for a little bit), and keep my self busy and make plans to look forward to in my own country.

OMG, I so agree with you. I check USCIS like everyday. NVC have got me going madd!!! 7 months and counting for my NA02

7 months omg! There are August filers who are being approved now. Have you tried calling them?

I'm trying to make it my new goal to only check once a week or better yet maybe once every two weeks! Yeah, that's not gonna happen.

Distraction is key although I'm far from mastering this. I'm partially laid off right now and that leaves me a frustrating amount of free time in between job hunting. It's quite miserable with a pending immigrant visa process. Time is at a standstill.

I am the petitioner.

I know, isn't it sickening? It took 9 months for my petition to be approved from USCIS..plus I had to fly from Australia to America for an interview that wasn't even required, they messed up our case big time. Finally, this morning we found out that my husband's interview is March 12. Keep hanging in there.. it will end someday! Have you called USCIS? Not that anyone who works there knows anything...

The USCIS case status is notoriously unreliable.

VJ member Gary_and_Alla will often tell people that his wife became a citizen a year ago and his status still reads "initial."

The wait is hard, and it's been exacerbated by the influx of I-812 DACA petitions, but keep the faith, si man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

So, why did you have to fly back for an interview?

How did they even know the case was approved? I don't trust my mail delivery; she frequently loses or misdelivers things. Do I have to keep calling USCIS? Last time I filed a service request I got the dreaded "6-month" letter and now I don't know what to do.

If you're going by the self-reported timelines, there are people who just never filled theirs out to show that they completed processing. If you're going by forum members, the earliest I saw was someone in June, but you may know of someone even earlier whose I-130 hasn't been processed yet.
