My interview is on Monday, just got a fedex package with my fiance's documents from America but instead of the original divorce decree he sent me a copy by accident. How important is it to have his original decree? Do they require it? I'm interested in the Warsaw embassy specifically but any feedback would be appreciated.

My wife interviewed in Warsaw for her K-1 visa and all I sent her were copies. Nothing certifed. Everything went well. She said they did not even ask for them since there was a copy in her file to begin with.

What exactly is a certified copy in this case? What I have is a plain photocopy. That won't do?

Thanks, that is encouraging. I read here on VJ tips that I should have his originals just in case they ask. Hopefully they won't!!!

In the U.S. Embassy in Bogotá, Colombia they require the original divorce decree even though there is a copy in the I-129F package you originally sent. :yes:
