Adding oath date, finally!! :) My oath ceremony is on July 15th and it is in observance of the centennial of President Ford's birth. I was told at my interview that they were holding some special ceremonies this summer and I am excited to be a part of this one. :)

Updating Oath Ceremony!!

Great news. :)

On a different note, my husband received his US passport today; it took 4 weeks exactly from the day he applied. Now he just has to update his status with Social Security and we will be done! :D

Congrats to all that have had their interviews and oaths.

My wife is still waiting for her interview. We have called USCIS to follow up and they said we have to wait 90 days from the time she was put in line for interview (April 5th) before escalating this and they said NYC was still processing August, but then I see others in NYC having theirs.

My wife is still waiting for her interview. We have called USCIS to follow up and they said we have to wait 90 days from the time she was put in line for interview (April 5th) before escalating this and they said NYC was still processing August, but then I see others in NYC having theirs.

Sorry to hear about the delay. I think there are also a few January filers who are still waiting for their interview date. Hopefully they fix this issue very soon.

Yay! My wife passed her interview and test today!! They said her oath ceremony should be in the third week of July, but we'll find out for sure when we get the scheduling letter in the mail. Note that she could have had a same day ceremony, but is changing her name so has to wait for the next judicial ceremony (they happen monthly in Portland).

We got to the waiting room about 20 minutes early and were there for 50 minutes before she was called. We had our toddler with us, which honestly was pretty difficult, but the IO saw her and she called for "mama" as my wife was being led back, which I think did provide some evidence of our ongoing marriage. They went over the N400 application and she took the marriage documents my wife brought (2012 tax transcript, joint checking account statements, medical/dental/auto insurance). The IO was apparently very friendly and informal and they talked about being moms.

The questions she was asked for the civics test:

1. What is the capital of your state?

2. What is the supreme law of the land?

3. What is an amendment?

4. What do we show loyalty to when we say the pledge of allegiance?

5. When was the Constitution written?

and 1 more, obviously, but my wife couldn't remember it. They did the English reading and writing portion (Where is the White House? The White House is in Washington, D.C.). Then the IO told my wife she passed and was recommended for approval! The IO was very happy for her.

All in all, pretty awesome.

My F2A/IR-1 journey:

USCIS:
4 August 2011: I-130 sent (while husband permanent resident)
8 August 2011: Priority date
16 April 2013: NOA2

NVC:

7 May 2013: Case number received, DS-3032 sent

15 May 2013: AOS bill received and paid

16 May 2013: AOS package sent

17 May 2013: DS-3032 accepted

20 May 2013: IV bill received and paid

21 May 2013: IV package sent

11 June 2013: response to IV checklist sent

13 June 2013: Case upgraded to CR1

2 July 2013: Case completed

28 August 2013: Interview - approved!

21 September 2013: POE

18 November 2013: Green card received

My husband's citizenship journey:

8 February 2013: N-400 sent
4 March 2013: Biometrics
24 April 2013: Interview
12 June 2013: Oath ceremony
