Sent off my passport application today, They stapled it regardless of my telling them (quite a few times) NOT to staple my Naturalization Certificate to the forms...

Did some research it seems quite a few people have had theirs stapled and haven't had an issue with it but haven't found any concrete info as to if it changes the validity of the certificate since punching holes in it is " damage / alteration " of the original. dry.png Not pleased thats for sure...

Ugh! Thanks for the heads up. I noticed when we applied for our kids passports, that they stspled their birth certificates to the form too, so maybe it is standard procedure. Still frustrating though.

Just a quick update....got a second email today...saying I have been scheduled for the Oath ceremony so I will know the date as soon as I get the letter in the mail. I'm so happy it's moving fast. I'll be glad to get this all over and done with. Although I will be back on here to check on everyone that started this journey with us! goofy.gif

Right there with you! Our experience was altogether unpleasant even though I had prepared everything ahead of time. I requested that the paperwork be stapled to the plastic sleeve I put the certificate in, but she said that the plastic could rip and the certificate would slip out, so I said okay. Next thing I know, she puts a staple right in the middle of the page! At least she could have stapled in in the corner. I was ticked--especially after waiting 4.5 hours in a line that was not very long. They were completely incompetent there! I have seen a few people mention having the same issue, so hopefully it won't be a problem later. Grrr..
