Thanks for the good luck wishes. You guys are so cool!

Well just had my interview. Which started off really really bad! lol

I received a 'yellow' letter stating I had to bring my state issued ID....drivers license with me, so me being a woman of many handbags, guess what I did? Yep! Left my purse with all my I.Ds in my workout bag. Duh!

Thankfully they still interviewed me as I had a copy of my tax return transcript which showed I was an Indiana resident. Phew!

The lady who interviewed me was very welcoming. She introduced herself, explained what would happen, and went straight into the questions.

Name one right only for US Citizens - vote in a federal election

How many State Senators are there - 100

What is the river on the East coast called - Atlantic

When was the Constitution written - 1787 (almost said 1786 and she gave me the.....look)...

What do we call the first ten amendments to the Constitution - The Bill of Rights

What is freedom of religion - you can practice any religion, or not practice a religion.

That was it. Signed some documents, signed the two passport pictures she had with her.

She explained she submitted my case for approval and I will hear from them soon regarding a date for the Oath ceremony.

My hubby paid $4.00 for 3 hours of parking, and I was out before he got up to the waiting area. He had to go get cash out as I had of course forgotten my purse so I went in ahead of him.

Almost done! Couldn't have completed this journey without everyone on here!

Hi everybody;

First of all I want to thank to everybody here because of your good wishes and by sharing your useful experiences so we can learn and know in advance some skills to improve our experience.

My Interview was schedule at 7:00am at 26 Federal Plaza building in New York City and I live in Brooklyn so my husband and I got up at 5:00am, and got ready at 6:00am. We took the A train heading to Manhattan and our nervousness was son terrible that we missed our stop like by 5 stops because we were practicing questions, so we had to take other A train Back to our expected stop. When we got to 26 Federal Building it was 7:00am (Just on time lol).

We passed the Security Check Point, went up to 7 floor and handed in my interview letter at window 52 like at 7:30am. We sat down and waited until 8:30am when one bald man on his 40 something came out and took me to his office. I took the oath and the USCIS officer started asking for my Green Card, Passport and Social Security Card and then proceeded to ask me the Civic and History questions without previous explanation about it. by that time I was still standing (I was about to get tired)because he did not tell me to sit down so I decided to sit down by myself and I was surprised because I thought I was going to be asked all questions from the N-400 application first but it was not like that so I did not understand his first Civic and History question and he got mad at me because I asked him to say it again. He told me in a rude way "PAY ATTENTION OK" so at that time I knew I was in trouble so I decided to do something to fix the problem so i told him "I AM SO SORRY, I AM NERVOUS". He felt like sorry so he started talking to me in a better way than before. I passed the 6 civic and History questions correctly, which were:

1)What do we call the ten first amendments to the Constitution?

2)Who is in charge of the Executive Branch?

3)What is one reason colonists came to America?

4)If the President can no longer serve, who becomes President?

5)There are four amendments to the Constitution about who can vote. Describe one of them?

6)During the Cold War what was the main concern of the United States?

He told me to read: "What state has the most people?, which I did correctly and he asked me to write: "CALIFORNIA HAS THE MOST PEOPLE" WHICH I DID PRETTY WELL TOO. so I passed and signed the reading and writing test too. Then he asked me some personal questions and some Have you ever.....questions from the N-400 application. I checked out a page containing my personal information and I said that everything was ok. so he gave me a page stating I have passed the English and Civic and History tests and that my application was recommended for approval , that I had to wait like two weeks for my oath letter by mail.

I apologize to all of you for my journal above.

Good lock to everybody and thank you again!!

Would you mind posting a review of your interview? My husband will have his interview in Lawrence next week, and it would be incredibly helpful for him to know what to expect.

If he passes, I wonder if he'll also be scheduled for oath on 12 June? Where is your oath ceremony going to be?

Hey Hun,

She asked me four civil questions and asked me to write down a sentence in English. She was a straight faced person no smiles or giggles which would have lightened the mood for me lol. All in all it was not intimidating at all, do study for the civil test tho ;)
