I responded to the RFE & they received the package today 08/06.. So I hope I don't have to wait too long now for my green card. Just hope I gave them enough evidence for what they need. This part of the process has been stressful this time around. I had more problems with getting evidence together purely for the lack of it because for the past 2 1/2 years my hubby & I had been living with my hubby's father being both of us were his caregivers due to his health problems. Sadly he passed away a few months ago, so we had to find a home to rent & get bills in one of our names & get the evidence that we are living as a married couple. So got our bank statements with checking & savings account in both our names for the past 2yrs,

Tax return transcripts 2011-2012

Car Insurance policies past 2yrs both our names on it.

Car Title showing our names at new address.

Utility Bill showing one name on it. (they won't put both names onto it)

Bright House cable, phone & internet bill showing both our names.

Letter from Landlord of renting property.

Rent receipts of payments with both our names.

2 further affidavits from friends.

We don't have any health insurances (can't afford that just now)

Father in-laws death certificate.

Letter from Vitas Hospice Care who helped us care for our father.

So I'm hoping this is gonna be enough evidence as we don't have anything else to give them. We have only been renting our home for the past 5 months. We have no worries if they ask us for an interview. I did explain our circumstances for the past 2yrs in a cover note.

Just checking in. Responded to our RFE on 7/30 and it was signed for on 8/1. I agree with weescotlassie, very stressful this time around. I am hoping just to have the GC issued rather than going to interview, but ultimately I was not able to add my husband to our lease so I had to send a letter from our apartment management company explaining that we'd been living together and to call her with questions if they had any. So not ideal, may trigger an interview. On the other hand I did send a full house of joint tax returns and I always feel like those are really strong evidence, so maybe I'll get lucky...

My online status updates do not seem to be working this time round, so I'm just eagerly checking the post every day. Really would like this to be over now.
