Why would the DMV not issue you a DL based on the 2 year GC? I find this strange. The only reason I could think of is the expiration date, but why not issue you a DL that expires when the 2 year GC expires?

I was applying for the first time with the extension letter and almost expired GC. It's a hit and miss at most DMVs. I even got a stamp but now no need for it!

Got my new card yesterday and they even fixed my middle name mixup. Interesting to see that people that applied to the California SC have started receiving their cards while those from the Vermont one have not yet.

I got the approval letter today! The approval letter says it was actually approved on the 19th of June not 25th like I thought!! So only 4 months pretty much!

Thank you! To be honest I have not checked the website (and I can't do so at the moment because I don't have my Ref Number with me). However the weird thing is that I first got the card in the mail and then (a couple of days later) I got the letter than informed me that my case has been approved and that I should expect my card within the next few weeks (even though it had already got to me).

To be honest I was not expecting to receive my card until August so I was very pleasantly surprised to see it in the mail. My wife and I did the whole process without the help of any lawyers which makes it even more satisfying.

I'll check the website when I get home and I'll let you know if it has updated as well or not.

I am so bummed out got a letter from USCIS asking RFE from me. I didn't give enough evidence to support our marriage. I was kinda limited to support our marriage as we didn't have a place of our own, with no utilities in our names. We lived with my hubby's father for over 2yrs as we took care of him until he passed away a few months ago. We now have a place we rent & we have only been living there for 4months. I've asked my landlord to give me something in writing to say that we are renting from them. He didn't sound to keen on the idea. For further evidence I decided to give all of my bank statements for the past 2yrs +.... I'm also giving them our joint tax returns. I have a question on that matter of tax returns, is a photocopy ok? or does it have to be from the IRS?

I had a couple of family members & a friend do our support of marriage letters, but USCIS don't seem to have those letters in my paper work that I sent! So not sure what I'm supposed to do with that one! Should I do them again & have them notarized?

I kinda feel a bit deflated today...

We first met online 2004, but things started to get serious in Dec 2007. Made my first visit to the USA in march 2008 for 2 weeks. Then returned again in Aug 2008 for 3 months.. Then i came back to the UK for 5 months to return back to the USA April 2009 for another 3months.
