I wanted to share my story so far.

Feb. 7th 2003 we sent in for AOS, AP and EAD

Feb 11th 2013 NOA's for AOS, AP and EAD received.

Feb 20th 2013 1040am received Biometric app with mail for San Francisco office set for 03/12/13. Made a walk-in two hours later. No problem at all. Very kind and polite staff.

No the waiting begins :blush:

AOS from H1B. Married to USC. San Francisco

02/03/2013 - AOS package sent. Including I-130, I-485 and I-765

02/11/2013 - NOA I-797 for I-130, I-485 and I-765

02/12/2013 - ASC Biometric - I-797C for 03/12/2013

02/20/2013 - ASC received in mail. Early walk-in same day

03/06/2013 - Online status changed to testing and interview (first time we were able to see online status)

03/18/2013 - Received I-797C Interview notice. Notice day 03/14/2013 Interview date 04/17/2013

04/18/2013 - Online status for I-765 changed: Card production

04/18/2013 - Interview 12.30PM in San Francisco: Approved

04/20/2013 - Received EAD card in mail

04/25/2013 - Received Green Card in mail

Total process time: 72days

Status on the EAD updated to "card production" today! Travel doc also updated, to "post decision activity." AOS still at "acceptance" (no move to testing & interview yet). Very, very happy -

Yes, I could not see my cases until the 5th when they were updated/approved. Still can't see my AOS. I got the tracking number, what is the card doing in Kentucky? Lol! You are close, I think in a

My husband successfully completed his biometrics walk-in today! The staff was so incredibly nice and friendly. I'm glad we were able to do it today...now I can relax for a while.

One thing to note: Take your NOA1 letters with you to the appointment if you attempt a walk-in but don't have the letter for one of the applications. The bio letter we received Saturday was only for the green card and EAD. For some reason, there's going to be a separate letter for the AP biometrics, which we haven't received yet. But because we had the NOA1 for the AP (which I almost left at home), they were able to do it.

My story:

Sent my application 02/05, got it back 02/15 because my husband signed in the wrong box :/

Sent my application back 02/16, received 02/18 (weird, I thought there was no mail that day!) and now I'm very nervously waiting for my text/email.

I have no idea if it speeds up the process or not. For us, it's about convenience. We live 2.5 hours (3 hours with traffic) from the nearest ASC. And on the date they gave us, I'm at a summit for my division and there's no way for my husband to get there on his own. So we're trying a walk-in tomorrow and/or Thursday rather than get re-scheduled for a later appointment date that could again potentially conflict with my work schedule.

If you live nearby the office, it can't hurt to try a walk-in to get it over and done with.

Nov. 20, 2012: POE, Boston!!! (legal marriage 12/12/12; family/friends wedding ceremony 1/12/13) (276 days)

Feb. 4, 2013: AOS packet sent (delivered 2/6, NOA1 text/email & check cashed 2/11 midnight)

Feb. 11, 2013: NOA1 notice date for I-485, EAD, AP (I-485/EAD NOA1 hard copies & biometrics appt letter arrived 2/16, badly mangled AP NOA1 arrived 2/27; biometrics done 3/4/13)

Apr. 3, 2013: EAD & AP approved (received card 4/11)

Aug. 16, 2013: I-485 approved & green card production ordered!!!! (card arrived 8/26/13) (193 days)

Sept. 16, 2020: interview, Boston (approved)

Sept. 24, 2020: oath ceremony, Boston---DONE!!! (279 days from submission)

If he goes on Monday and he doesn't have the NOA1 for AP, then he'll have to go back a second time. We still don't have the letter for the AP biometrics and we received all three NOA1 letters at the same time.

I guess it wouldn't be possible to speed up the EAD on its own given that the EAD and AP are the same card, right? Grr. We got the text messages for all 3: why must the hard copy take so long?

Did you call them? Like maybe there was an error or something at the time they sent it... I would do that if that would happened to me.

Hi! This is my first time here. I am so excited that I already mailed my I-485/I-751 combo last Friday. However, I did not realize that there was no office on Saturday and Monday is a federal holiday. Anyway, I received my confirmation on February 19 at 1151AM signed by JC. I get so jittery waiting for the confirmation email and text. I just hope it is not too busy at the lockbox.
