It says a lot about their carelessness and incompetence...I see that Baba's interview was cancelled due to the need for training for the employees...well it looks justified now.

I saw a grim picture of operation when I went for biometrics. As I was siting there...I noticed each employee would take two applicants at a time...took their sweet time...checked their phone in the middle of it for text, missed call, facebook update, twitter or god knows what...couple of times then when finished took a break for 5-10 mins then walked lazily back to desk to call for next applicants....they love their job that much. I have been in the US for a long time....I see this picture any time I go to a govt. office....it's a shame!!!

3-5 months for an AOS process is not fast enough for you? To get your fingerprints takes 30 min MAX!! 2 months and a half to get work permit, 1 day to get SSN, What are you talking about? You might be from a country where the government offices work SUUUUPER fast!! I believe they do an awesome job and I thank them and God for being here, if we were here without a green card for so long it's because we decided to.

You are suggesting "take it or leave it"...that's not a very constructive approach ;) My finger print took more than an hour to be called but...that's not the only thing though. I know many stories of their errors that delay the cases eventually for everyone else. You are lucky if you don't fall through their nonsense or cracks... I am glad you feel blessed to be here :) Well I am happy to be here too :)

AND yes they are getting a lot better with the time frame...in the past it would take you forever. I understand and sympathize with everyone including me anxiously waiting to get an update on EAD since without that you suffer financially. It would be reasonable if they get the EAD approved first and quicker so that at least applicant/petitioner can work... while they work on GC approval and interview procedure.....and don't think I am just writing this here...I did tell them when I called them :)

I'm not suggesting anything, just pointing out your "hey USCIS ####### where is my stuff!" Attitude. Good luck! Just don't talk ####### about the people that gave me my EAD hehehe Just kidding!! And always remember, the EAD takes UP TO 90 days ;)

They are. I know two people in that situation (because one of the partners is Romanian). Filed in July/August, transferred to California/stayed at NBC, and despite trying to do smth, no one is paying attention. NBC's processing time is 9 months. Other get their GC in 5 weeks (there was recently a thread about that here). We are all paying the same fees, why are some legal residents 8 months before others?

I just finished my interview. My husband and I arrived at the USCIS office at 1410. Appointment is at 1440. She was a very nice lady. It was scary at first. She called us in. Then, we sat in her office. Afterwards, she asked some questions about my legal status since I was in the US since 2004. She wanted to make sure that before she makes her decision that I was in status during the duration of my stay here. So I gave previous approval from USCIS. Then, she asked question like my address, date of birth, how many children. She inquire on why it took us so long to apply for AOS. Then, she realized that my husband was just naturalized last February. She told my husband that she knows that she did not naturalized him since his naturalization was recent. Afterwards, she gave me a letter stating that "your case is being held for review. At this time, USCIS does not require any further information or documents from you. Shoud further information or documents be required, you will receive a notice in the mail. We may also schedule for another interview; you will receive a notice in the mail. Otherwise, a final decision will be mailed once your case is complete."

Afterward, my husband and I went home. In 1 hour, I received a text and an email from USCIS.

[*]Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production

[*]On April 25, 2013, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

[*]This step applies to applications that result in an applicant receiving a card (such as a "green card") or other document (such as a naturalization certificate, employment authorization document, travel document, or advance parole). Applications will be in this step from the time the order to produce the card/document is given until the card/document is produced and mailed to the applicant. You can expect to receive your card/document within 30 days of the approval of your application.

I am so excited. I did not receive my EAD card but this is so much better.
