Hi,

Did they ask you to return after four weeks? I wonder if it's better to update the SS card after getting a Green Card.

BB

The letter states:

'This is to acknowledge that you applied for a social security number on April 4, 2013.

Before we can issue you a social security number card, we must verify your documents you gave us to show your Alien status with the Federal, State, or local office in the United States that issued the document. This may take up to 4 weeks. If that office verified the authenticity of your document(s) we will mail you a social security number card.

If that office does not verify your document(s), you are not eligible for a social security number card and we will inform you of this in writing.

If you are not a U.S. citizen and you are applying for a social security numbwer card for employment purposes and your immigration status allows you to work, you may legally begin employment while you await issuance of a social security card. You cannot work if your immigration status does not authorize you to do so.

:innocent: Patience! EAD is starting to trickle in to the early february filers. Don't worry....I bet yours is just a little more wait. If it is more than 3 months to the NOA1, you have the right to call USCIS then.

I'm almost in the same boat except my rfe for birth certificate changed to response review on April 3 and now I'm just waiting for interview. My EAD still pending since Feb 20 on initial review... I guess we just gotta wait

:bonk: :bonk: I never thought my husband and I have so many pictures with the kids. I was hoping to just bring my ipad to the site. I still have 18 days to get all these pictures and documents straight. School (nursing subject exams) does not help also. :bonk: :bonk:

You guys are right, patience is the key. One more question, maybe somebody can answer it. My spouse was born abroad so she has a "report of birth abroad", for the interview they ask for her birth certificate, she has one from the country she was born but it needs to be translated from Dutch. Does she need to bring her birth certificate from her country of birth or the report of birth abroad is enough? Thanks in advance! And I'm glad I found this place where I can relate with you all.

If I were you I would take copies of your pics beside your iPad, because they might want to keep them for their records. I've read a lot of stories where they asked to keep a copy of the pics and documents and if you don't have copies they might keep the originals (but don't worry they won't keep your iPad :P)

Good luck!!!

Thanks for your reply! Please let's keep each other posted if there is any update. Feels good to relate to other people. It's a nightmare to play this waiting game but places like this make it a little less bad. What is your filing date by the way?

Lol! I feel like I have several things to bring since I have been married for 3 years. And I was surprised that my husband and I have been together for 4. So everything adds up. Anyway, I have to fix everything by this saturday. I could not believe the interview date is getting nearer! And it also landed on my daughter's birthday! SO I hope it is a good sign.

It is better to bring both. However, I would be wise to also get a translated copy of her birth certificate though since they want everything in english. I wonder if google translate will suffice.

It does make it less painful when you are not alone. My petition was sent to NBC on Feb 14 but it was received by them on the 20th, so Feb 20 is my starting date. My I130 had been approved already since we sent them separately, the only things pending are I485 & I765. By the way my rfe was on birth certificate, I would suggest you bring the original from your wife's country with notarized translation just in case, it cost me $30 to translate and notarize mine because I'm also born abroad.

Looks like things are moving along nicely for people :)

Strangely, our date for when the EAD card was ordered has changed from March 27 to April 1... Not sure what that's all about. Still no update on AOS though.

I have a quick question for you. It just happened to me as well that they sent me an update on April 3rd that my EAD card was in production and today April 8th I got an update again that my new card is in production. Did they send you an update as well when they have mailed you your card? Or after that it just came in the mail? I am so anxiously waiting:)

I got the approval notification on 4/2, the "mailed" notification on 4/3, and the combo EAD/AP was in our mailbox on Friday 4/5. I didn't even use the tracking number, I never thought it would be that fast so I hadn't looked at it yet.

Meanwhile, status on AOS is still at "acceptance". Sigh.

Very, very glad to have the EAD!

Actually we never received any updates per se, I just noticed from my daily check of the USCIS website that the date had changed from when I last looked. My guess is that you will receive your card this week. We got our tracking number 2 days before the card arrived, so hang in there :)
