Has anyone booked an interview date with Montreal lately? Is it always 3 months in advance or do they open dates that would become available sooner? I am booked for April 30th but I desperately have to get my interview in march or early April at the latest. My fiancé is sick and I have to get there ASAP.

Moved from K-1 visa process questions to Regional Canada section as this is specific to the embassy in Montreal Canada.

Have you tried to expedite based on medical reasons?

I don't know how expedites work or if they work for fiances... but I have heard it's possible at the embassies.

Maybe you could try e-mailing them? (They don't really do anything over the phone.) Make sure to include your case # in the subject line and explain the situation, but don't make the e-mail too lengthy. Keep it brief and to the point.

If it were I--and my spouse was truly sick----I would get a Dr note, scan it and attach it to the Email to Mtl. As I'm sure they get plenty of emails with people making stuff up...not saying you are, but a Dr note (Along with dr phone #) would give it some validity.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Which type of visa you are applying for?
