Hi,

Me, husband and petitioner for my Portuguese wife.

When I was a LPR I filed I-130 for my wife and step daughter and received NOA1 on July 6, 2012 (priority date: July 5, 2012), in the mean time I went through N-400 and became a citizen on January 8, 2013 and sent a request to upgrade I-130 F-2A to IR-1/CR-1 and I also followed this up by calling the USCIS customer service center and got two referral numbers for the I-130's.

Now as to my question, does anyone have a rough idea on an estimate when we might be getting NOA2?

On a side note, my wife is pregnant with our first child and we are trying to plan things accordingly, which is of course not that easy when you are in limbo NOA2 wise.

Any help or advise is appreciated.

Thank you.

D.

Well if you got your Noa1 in January, you should get your Noa2 within 5-7 months. Then you are off to NVC before being scheduled for an interview date.

You are probably looking at 8-10 months for the whole process. Your child will most likely be born in Portugal.

Noa 1 August 15th 2011
Noa 2 March 2nd

NVC case numbers March 22nd
My sons AOS and IV bill paid March 23rd (status in progress)

I stated that I got NOA1 in July 2012, not January. I merely updated I-130 in January to reflect that I am now a citizen.

Send a copy of NOA1 with your naturalization certificate's copy to CSC. The operators might say you don't need to send anything but actually you do. I am going thru the same process and after upgrading 2 months ago, now they asked me to mail in the certificate copy. It seems like all the months in F2A category were a waste of time. 17 months in f2a and now almost three months since citizen but still waiting for noa2 at vsc. Hope your case is faster.

That is what I did, I sent in all the documentation, copies of NOA1 and citizenship certificate and then just to make sure I also called their service line and stated that I already sent everything in.

Yeah, I am not holding my breath, but here is to keeping hope alive.
