Interview on 3/19, do I need to file taxes before then?

My wife's interview is on March 19, 2013. Do I need to file 2012 taxes and bring my returns and new AOS to the interview? Will the CO ask for them or can I wait until I go back to the US to file taxes? The AOS I planned to bring has my returns from only 2011 which is slightly above the threshold and my home as an additional asset.

Apr 2009 - First date--actually to bernie c's wedding no less!
Aug 2009 - promise ring
Nov 2009 - moved in together
Mar 2010 - pregnant!
May 2010 - engagement
Jun 2010 - wedding
Dec 2010 - its a girl!
Dec 2010 - signed marriage cert
May 2012 - got CRBA and passport for baby
06-16-2012 - I-130 Package sent for CR1 spousal visa
06-26-2012 - NOA-1 -> CSC
10-04-2012 - NOA-2
10-23-2012 - Paid AOS / Emailed DS-3032
11-08-2012 - Paid IV
11-21-2012 - Mailed AOS/IV packets
12-12-2012 - Received Checklist for Police Certificate (missing translation)
12-12-2012 - Mailed Translated PC
12-21-2012 - Case Completed at NVC. Qualified for IR1 visa
03-19-2013 - Interview


06-21-2012 - USCIS received I130 from abroad
06-26-2012 - NOA-1 -> CSC

No you don't have to bring 2012 years taxes.

Noa 1 August 15th 2011
Noa 2 March 2nd

NVC case numbers March 22nd
My sons AOS and IV bill paid March 23rd (status in progress)
My sons AOS and IV bill shows as paid March 26
My IV bill paid March 26
Both packages sent on March 26
My IV bill shows as paid on March 27th
CC on both cases March 30

Current record holder of fastest through the NVC :D

Medical exam in Stockholm April 13th
Interview on May 16th !!!
POE Anchorage July 12th!! 2012

July 2015 n-400 in the mail

September 2015, interview

October 23rd 2015, Oath ceremony!!!!!​​

Not sure about your case....however my parents in-law is scheduled for the interview on March 11, and it is required the most recent Federal Income Tax Return even though our income last year was over the poverty guidelines.

Did they contact you to request this year's income taxes?

It stated in the interview Appt letter. That is why we're going to our tax this weekend. Probably in your case, it may not require.

That shouldn't jam anyone up for having not filed yet if the interview is before 4/15, but its safe to show documentation of income if possible and if they accept a filing between now and then, a copy of that, but a transcript for this years filing is out of the question, takes a long time for that to get generated in the system for you to get it June is the earliest I think..
