If you know your local field office is Pittsburgh please post here so that others can get an idea of Pittsburgh processing times. This would be for all standalone I-130 petitions sent after August 15, 2012.

My petition was accepted by USCIS on 1/4/2013 and I received my NOA1 on 1/7/2013.

I contact USCIS this morning and spoke with a tier 2 representative regarding my case and as of today my case is still at MSC and has not been transferred to the Pittsburgh field office.

I am the petitioner.

the only two possibles that I found (using advanced search)

were

muna12, pradub

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Thanks Darnell. I also found those two members but I don't think they've been active in a while.

I assumed there wouldn't be many Pittsburghers here since the case trend load is remarkably low in Pitt compared to other offices.

Hi, I've sent in an I-130 for my husband the end of January, and got my NOA1 on Feb 7, 2013. I live just outside of Pittsburgh, so I'm pretty sure that this would be the nearest field office. Just curious though, did they explicitly tell you that your case will be sent to the Pittsburgh office? I'm trying to figure out where mine might end up. So far it only says it was routed to the NBC.

I called USCIS a few weeks ago and spoke to an ISO specifically asking if my case was sent to Pittsburgh. They said my case file was still at NBC.

But many members on here will tell you that USCIS told them their cases were sitting in NBC but in actuality were being processed at their local field offices so I trust little of what the customer service line tells you.

I'm actually on my way to an InfoPass appointment at the Pitt office. Will post updates when I return. I will specifically ask them if they are currently processing standalone I-130 petitions and maybe they will be kind enough to tell me if my case is currently in the office.

I am the petitioner.

I also forgot to mention that they will not send notification that your case file has been transferred to Pitt. Members on here have been discovering the transfer either by calling USCIS and speaking to an ISO or making an InfoPass appointment.

The InfoPass was a waste of time. The IO told me I-130 petitions are not processed at the Pitt office. This thread proves otherwise http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/398186-pittsburgh-pa-transfers/ as well as the trend charts from Pittsburgh showing the same positive linear trend present in all other field office trends after August 15. http://dashboard.uscis.gov/index.cfm?formtype=4&office=23&charttype=1

If you live outside the city and the trip to Pitt is a haul, I would pass. I had an InfoPass appointment last fall with an IO in the Pitt office who told me my I-130 was safe to submit despite missing a critical document that we have been unable to obtain. The IO I spoke with today said that approval of my I-130 would not be possible without the missing document. There ya go. Two different answers from the same dang office :bonk:

Ugh. Sorry to hear that! I hope it's something you can easily fix. If you dont mind me asking, what document didn't you submit?

I haven't tried to contact anyone for customer service, but from what I've heard it seems like a waste of time. I'm not too familiar with infopass, is it just a service to set up an appointment with someone at a field office for questions/issues? is it better than the phone service available? I don't need to contact anyone at the moment, but it might be useful to know for in the future. thanks!

The document is related to the marriage process in India. I have our marriage certificate from the temple we were married at in India. What USCIS, NVC, and DOS want to see is the marriage registration document, the official document issued by the Indian government authorities recognizing our marriage. The document is unobtainable due to stubborn officials in India refusing to register the marriage. Instead of proving the docuement, we submitted a good quantity of evidence demonstrating that we have made many attempts and other official documents explaining why we have been unable to obtain the document.

I am hoping the first IO at the Pitt office is right in saying we will be approved especially since he actually seen all of our evidence as I brought it with me to the appointment. I did not bring anything to the appointment today.

In general I and other members on this site have been getting mixed information whether they call the Customer Service line, speak with a tier 2 ISO, or make an InfoPass appointment. It seems like you can't trust anyone which is ridiculous and unprofessional coming from a US government authority.

In regards to the InfoPass, yes it is just a service to set up an appointment. I find it better because you can actually bring paperwork to show to an IO instead of trying to explain it over the phone. Also the Pitt office is never busy so you can take all the time you need. I feel like the agents on the phone are trying to kick you off the call as soon as they can.

Hey just wanted to give an update. My I-130 petition was approved on 2/13/2013 after only 37 days. I am convinced my case was processed at Pitt even though they told me differently.

I've heard from other members that if you make an InfoPass appointment, you can ask specifically to speak to a supervisor who will be more knowledgeable on I-130 processing.

Best of luck! I hope your approval comes just as quickly! good.gif
