I'm ready to file my I-129F for K1. I heard a rumor that on February 1 the fees are changing. Is this true or is the fee for K1 still $340? Thanks.

I have not heard Feb 1. I heard in April they are increasing something. Here is the link as I just checked and did not see anything pertaining to increase. Good luck http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=a10e4154d7b3d010VgnVCM10000048f3d6a1RCRD&vgnextchannel=db029c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD

There is a new fee but it's not related to the visa but to the green card, so you don't have to worry about it right now. Now you have to go ahead and file your petition and pay what you are supposed to, and later down the road, once you had your interview, you need to pay $165 to USCIS so it can issue the green card before you live your home country, but again, you have a long wait ahead of you.

The $165 fee does not apply to K-1 visa cases...you will not have to pay it. The fee is for those that have filed spousal visas (IR-1/CR-1). To clarify the costs you need to pay:

I-129f petition...$340

K-1 visa..........$240

Note that the K-1 visa is applied for at the embassy stage AFTER your I-129f petition has been approved. The only thing you need to send now is your I-129f petition and $340 payment.
