Question on K-3 petition approval

Is it possible to have a delay in k-3 petition approval due to security check even though the I-130 got approved faster than the k-3. Because i really can't understand why the K-3 seems to be in a coma condition at the moment. Based on my knowledge, applications can get delayed if there is a problem with respect to background check. My last touch was on 07/10/06 with receipt date of 06/22/06

I at first was very confused b/c i was getting approval notices and yet nothing was happening. I contacted NVC to find out what the case number was for the I130 and the I129 b/c all the forms I was getting in the mail seemed confusing and I assumed (incorrectly) they were for the I129. However even though both were approved pretty fast I was given a case number for the 129 and told that it had been forwarded to the embassy in Caracas, Venezuela. I emailed them and they said they had it and that my fiancee needed his medicals and I needed my support papers and that was it. MY EMAILING THEM got the ball rolling. I got an interview within two weeks of the email....they were very responsive. I wonder sometimes that we sit back and wait for the info to come when it's sitting on their desks waiting for prodding. SO prod..email your embassy...don't feel annoying for asking quiestions --you might just get what you are looking for!! Best of luck. Our interview for the K3 is Nov.16 at 8:30AM keep us in your prayers--I have heart surgery the next week and I really want my husband there. Best of luck to you and yours...
