Well, what do you know? We resent the DS-3032 last night after rereading the first post and ErinBeth's post and, lo and behold, an acceptance this morning! Who knew?! :)AOS arrived a week ago tomorrow, so hoping that we get our IV invoice and can send that package off tomorrow. Thanks Saylin and ErinBeth!

That subject line pretty much guarantees a fast approval ;) Grats! kicking.gif

Hi Saylin,

Quick question, im a july I-130 filer currently serving active duty i did an expedite request which was approved friday the 22nd and received the text Approved  ... Now, will i have to wait 2 weeks to call uscis to see if my case was sent to NVC, and since they are expedited papers (deployment related) will it still take 15-20+ days to receive new case id # from NVC :help: . sorry for asking too much is that i dont have much knowledge :bonk: about this process and expediting situation.

I don't believe an approved expedite at USCIS expedites the papers to NVC. I believe it just expedites the review. Call USCIS later this week to see if they've mailed your case. If they haven't, request it to be shipped asap. Once it's been shipped, start calling NVC to see if a case number has been assigned. Once it has been, then you can request an expedite (if you wish to again).

When checking your status on NVC website, can you see anything else than "processing" and "ready"?

NVC will send your request to the embassy in the Philippines and they'll make a decision. Once they've decided, they'll let NVC know, and then NVC will in turn tell you of the outcome. Hopefully the Philippines is quick with their decision (and they approve the request). In the meantime, continue on with your process, in case it's rejected. Don't want to waste any time waiting for the response.

Still waiting for my invoices.

I am guessing, if approved, the NVC will forward the I-130 to Manila, and the rest of the steps are eliminated maybe along with the fees?

Nothing is eliminated if the expedite is approved. It's just postponed. So you'd pay the fees and bring the paperwork with you to the interview or they'd have you send it in before the interview, but probably more likely for the former.

Nevermind a case number, NVC has still not recieved our case yet. Is it normal to take this long? I understand about not receiving a case number but why hasn't it been mailed out yet? I called USCIS last week and they didn't say anything about supervisory review. Just wondering why my case seems to be at a standstill right now.

Dumb question: Will I receive notification from USCIS, NVC, or none once our case is shipped off? I assumed I would receive an email or something by now.

I am the petitioner.

USCIS is always doing funny business. My husband called this morning and the person on the other end would not even tell if our case has been shipped or not. #######!!! My husband is petitioner and it's a simple yes/no question. We'll just wait till Friday before we make our next call, maybe this time to NVC instead of USCIS. USCIS typically doesn't send out notifications your case has shipped. I've seen it in a former NVC thread, but it's definitely not common.

Have you called USCIS to ask about your case? If it's still there, request it to be sent to NVC asap.

Was he talking to a customer service rep? I had the same trouble with a CSR last week. I asked the question about 3 times and she kept dodging the question or changing the subject. I finally hung up, called back and asked to speak to a tier 2 ISO. She was more helpful and said that my case hasn't left USCIS. I don't understand what's taking so long. I assume I should allow a few days for my case to go from my local office back to NBC but what now? February is almost over and they still haven't mailed anything out yet.

Call the ISO and get a e request submitted. My file was approved February 1st and was still sitting in Philadelphia as of this past Friday.
