Those are the only two forms, yes. But there's other documents: payment, passport photos, petitioner's proof of US citizenship, marriage certificate, divorce certificates (if applicable), evidence of the marriage.

Ok, thanks. I asked her to scan and send me the whole package she sent to USCIS, we didn't include any evidence of marriage. I'm going to take everything to the interview. I am kind of anxious though for not including anything to this point.

As a Canadian, don't worry about this whatsoever. I'm betting you won't even be asked for any evidence at the interview! Montreal is probably one of the easiest embassies/consulates to interview in ;)

Now THAT is tremendously calming, to know someone else is in the same position... thank you x100. Is that the nvcresearch@state.gov e-mail? What did you say to them?

Scanned copy of my Approval and the name dob of myself and my spouse. I also indicated that I was the petitioner.

Also, my document isn't under review. They're just sitting their "waiting to be routed to New Delhi". I was like wait, why not NVC? They said, "They will go to NVC, but are awaiting to be routed to New Delhi". Made no sense. I'm even more worried now. What if these geniuses ship the case to the embassy before the NVC is complete. That's why I email the NVCResearch to get the NVC to pressure them as well.

They may have accidentally thought you were a K1, as this is what happens to K1 applicants. But don't worry, once it gets to NVC, everything will be fine. I've never seen a member here where their case was sent to the embassy/consulate before the case was complete. And if it did happen, I'm thinking they would just make you bring all documentation (AOS and IV package) along with the fees to the interview. So, it might turn out to be a surprise expedite laughing.gif

I sure hope so. I just want NVC to hurry up and schedule me an interview date.

Oh btw, I called the DOS line and the lady that answered the phone basically told me "why are you calling here? call NVC". I thought you can call either or to find out about your interview date. I know I have to allow some time but I just called to see what they say in terms of timing.

You're allowed to call DOS. The operator didn't know what she was talking about headbonk.gif

Hello everyone!!

I just received an email from NVC...it's a CHECKLIST :bonk: :bonk:

I am wondering if is it a false checklist, since I have filed online my DS-261 form on Feb 6th and in this checklist email it's included the cover letter and it says:

INSTRUCTIONS FOR: (My name)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

______1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1:_______________________

The Embassy/Consulate where you will be interviewed requires you to submit an electronic form

DS-261 (Choice of Address and Agent) which can be found at:

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_5165.html. This form tells the National Visa Center

how to contact the principal applicant during the immigrant visa application process. A parent or

guardian may submit the form if the principal applicant is under the age of sixteen.

You may act as your own agent, or you may register your petitioner, a family member or foriend, an

attorney or other immigrant assistance professional, or anyone else you trust to represent you. The NVC

strongly recommends that you register an agent with e-mail capability and a postal delivery address in

the United States because postal service can be unreliable in some parts of the world.

The principal applicant must notify us of his/her choice before we can continue processing this case.

Is it a false checklist? I am trying to call NVC anyway but I get busy tone :( :( :help: :help:

Just received a checklist from the NVC regarding scanned photographs, as I've read on other threads this is a false checklist correct? I don't need to take any action? just disregard this and take the pictures to the interview right? why would they send me a checklist after completeing my case?

And now, my AOS is in eastern New Hampshire instead of western New Hampshire. I wonder which Portsmouth they thought I wanted the package delivered to.

Yet another question for the VJ experts. On the G-325a, I put my wife's adoptive father and adoptive mother as the mother and father. The case was approved no problem. Now on the DS-230, I had my wife send me 2 signed copies. One with her biological parents, and the other one with her adoptive parents. For the biological parents, there is not address as they're deceased and I have the original death certificate. On my wife's passport, it has the adoptive parents listed as her mother and father.

What route should I take.

1.) Send the DS-230 when I submit the IV with her adoptive parents, much like the G-325a and write a letter explaining why I didn't put the biological parents. I will also include the courts adoption papers along with the death certificate.

2.) Send the DS-230 with her biological parents and write a letter explaining why I put her adoptive parents on the G-325a and why her adoptive parents are on the passport + send adoption papers + death certificates .

Just spent an hour and a half on the phone with my Dad to make sure all the paperwork was in order for both IV and AOS packets so he can express ship it to NVC tomorrow morning. How draining! I didn't realize we had SO MUCH stuff for each packet until I tried to explain each thing to my Dad and where it had to go and all that nonsense. I'll be happy to have it sent off tomorrow! Hoping for an early March completion and an April interview! ^_^ Fingers crossed!

If you've got a decent internet connection try Skype. I pay about $5 a month to get unlimited minutes to call any US phone line from my computer. You can subscribe for minutes for less money if you don't need unlimited minutes. It's very clear and very easy to use, I subscribed specifically for this process, international calling is toooo expensive!

Thanks Roosha! will keep that in mind. Still got some minutes on this call card.

Finally got the NVC# today  finally, moving forward...

I called NVC and YES, I got a FALSE checklist of my DS-261, a very nice lady said that my DS-261 is complete, and we should get invoiced soon. So I am much more calm down haha  I was panicking a little bit

BTW I have read a few comments saying that the operators talk too fast, and I can say that is true  , they must be very busy because they talk very fast! :P
