I have some questions, please help:

1) Can I delay sending the AOS package till August?

(As I can't find a joint-sponsor)

2) Also can I pay and send the IV packtet before sending I-864 package?

3) How does my child fill out and signs the DS-230?

(My child is two months old)

1) yes, but why delay it until august? it will only delay your case completion.

2) as long as you have paid the aos bill, i believe so.

3) I have no idea lol.

Hi, everyone :) Is this Case Complete?

"NVC Case Number: BCHxxxxxxxxx

Dear Sir or Madam:

The National Visa Center has received all documentation necessary to complete pre-processing

of your case. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner

and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment

until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.

The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of

the interview. Additional documentation requirements if applicable can be referenced at

the following URL: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3742.html

Sincerely,..."

I have another question: In this email that I received today from NVC they use my maiden name (beneficiary). In all other emails from them they used my married name. I think it has something to do with the fact that I sent a copy of my old passport (maiden name). Today I picked up my new passport with my married name. What should I do? Scan it and send an update email or what? Thank you for your input :) I'm sooooooo happy

1. Yes, you can delay up to a year.

2. Yes. The AOS and IV are two separate tracks, doesn't matter which you send first.

3. You (or the spouse) would fill it out and then sign on their behalf, I would assume. Call NVC to confirm this one though.

I've not done that yet, I have to wait till NVC completes my case. Yes, this letter will suffice according to the www.slec.ph website. Goodluck to both of us :)

For advance medicals, the whole point of them is to do them early. Only those doing regular medicals have to wait for case complete and interview date scheduled. For advance ones though, all you need is that first letter from NVC and you can have a medical done. DO IT NOW. I urge you, especially for the Philippines where getting a bad culture can cost you 6 months waiting time. This happened to one of my friends, where her culture came back bad, had to go on medicine which takes 6 months.

1) yes, but why delay it until august? it will only delay your case completion.

2) as long as you have paid the aos bill, i believe so.

3) I have no idea lol.

Remember, the AOS and IV are two separate tracks and have NOTHING to do with one another (except that both need to be accepted before the case is completed).

Yes, that's the case complete email! Congrats! kicking.gif

I'd say not to do anything at this point. Just bring the updated passport with you to the interview (as well as a photocopy of the bio-data page) and hand that over. Explain you got a new passport in your married name. Your visa (and thus green card) uses the name on your passport, so yours will come in the married name.

Just filed my taxes for 2012. I probably won't have the tax transcripts, so should I send a copy of the 1040, schedule 1 and w2 when i send the AOS. Or do I need to attach the 1099 forms as well?

Thank you, Saylin, you're such a great help :) That's what I was thinking  I suppose everything will be fine once I give them my new passport (and copy) at the consulate. Do you have any idea how long it takes until I receive interview appointment letter email? Bucharest Consulate it's not very busy, at least regarding immigrant visas :)

Thank you so much for everything.

If you're not sending in tax transcripts, you have to send in the ENTIRE tax return. That means EVERYTHING you sent to the IRS, you send to NVC: 1040, W2s, schedules, worksheets, 1099s, etc etc. EVERYTHING.

This is why tax transcripts are so much more preferred at NVC (and most embassies/consulates) because it's less paper and more concise (and validated by the IRS to be right).

You're welcome ^_^

Typically, I've noticed on a global average, it's two months from case complete date to interview date (with the interview being scheduled sometime in between). If Bucharest isn't too backlogged, then it may even be faster for you. Just keep calling NVC (and DOS if you want) once per day and inquiring, if you want to know right away.

Hear, hear.

Also, just FYI: Your case may have been transferred to Philadelphia then transferred BACK to the NBC for final processing, like mine was.

If you not get it via telephone by the 22nd, chase down USCIS.

full copy of everything you sent to the IRS. everything

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Hey all. I have a quick question in regards of i1864. I am currently working more on a part time basis, and I do receive unemployment benefits. Can this be included in with current income? Also, I meet the poverty line with my taxes but that does include unemployment benefits as well. Will I still qualify or should I seek out a joint sponsor? Thanks in advance!

Yes, that's correct. NVC won't request 2012 taxes until after the tax deadline (April 15 this year). One can still send in 2012 if they have it done, but it's not required yet. It may be required at the interview though, even if it's before April 15 as some consulates/embassies are strict about that.
