Thank you

Another question is her passport bio page. once she gets it, she can copy it. BUT, it's her maiden name because she applied in July. Will that matter? She is planning on getting the name corrected, so she won't need to carry a copy of our marriage certificate.

Thoughts?

I've read that they have the marriage certificate that shows maiden name and married name, and that either is acceptable on the forms. Mine have a mix of married and maiden name. So far no problems.

How long until she gets her married name passport?

What I would do:

Have her scan and email the maiden name passport. If she gets the married name passport before you will send the IV packet, have her immediately scan and email it to you.

Thankfully passport is a plain ol' copy so you can just print it from your email!

In some countries , any update to the passport affects the passport number and also may affect the police certificate you had originally submiited to NVC.So I dnt know if submitting the new passport in her married name will mean new passport number, new police certificate etc for your region. so why not just go ahead and change the passport to her married name before you complete NVC?

You're a sox fan.

But really, once I got my case number, I emailed my husband to send the 3032 email. In the afternoon, yesterday, I got the pdf of the 3032 along with the AOS invoice, which I paid when I got home from work. So for me, that was quick. Once the 3032 is accepted, I suspect the IV invoice will come.

you control the pace ( mostly) at the NVC stage. Like Erinbeth said, once you get your numbers and a go ahead to submit AOS/DS 3032 payment and form, you do that. It may take up to 3 weeks before they accept your DS 3032 and request payments and subsequently documents. After that, it's up to you to decide when to submit the IV package(where the passport bio page comes in). your case will remain open at the NVC for one year ( for those not in ahurry or having challanges).

one year per thing. there are two things at NVC.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

So I just got another email from NVC saying that they received my "update of email address" and have "changed the email address for this case number". I never updated my email address...? Anybody have any clue what this is about?

I'm going to call later today just in case to find out. Lord, you really have to be after these people to make sure they don't screw everything up. :bonk:
