Ok I NOW as of Jan 22nd have a position with enough income to sponsor my hubby I have been working for the same government agency for almost 7 years but recently got a promotion that finally puts me about the 125% guidelines. But it has been such a short time that I got the promotion so this might now look good. My mom lives with me and she will help me sponsor. Should I use her as a co aponsor or a household member? She alone makes enough to sponsor my hubby without my income. I am a bit confused

While talking on skype, my husband called Nvc, and 31 minutes later a nice lady picked up the phone and he asked about DS-261status, and it‘s not accepted yet...she said from 5 to 10 business days. We got email this morning, AOS was received and please wait up to 20 business days for review.

Does it really take 20 business days?

I guess by now there is nothing else we can do but waiting...

Cant waot to get invoiced for IV Fee! (Lol can‘t believe that I am anxious to pay $230!)

Oh, if you're living abroad, it might take longer than usual. How soon did you get the NOA1 after you filed the petition?

Like a week? That's why I'm a little worried since it's nearly 3 weeks now.

I didn't send the emails myself, the clerk at my attorney's office did. She sent TWO different emails, one for AOS and for the IV, then she forwarded two auto response emails yesterday evening, one was sent at 6:30 and one was sent at 7:00, so I figured ok she must have sent both packages since she received two auto responses.

This morning she forwarded another email to me, which was sent from NVC at 7:15 am stating that they have received the correspondence and said something about the scanned images, when I looked closer I saw that she had sent another email to NVC at 10pm last night, and I wasn't sure why she would do that since she had already sent them earlier. I then asked her if she has received a separate email acknowledging the AOS package and she forwarded her own email to me, the email she had sent to NVC at 9:23 pm...

She's walking on my nerves, I emailed her multiple times asking her to send me the two packages as an attachement and she ignores it every time. I don't know what else to do. I just wanted the packages on my OWN computer in case I need to resend them. You see where my frustration lies in having to chase after her...

I called NVC and asked them to send every email they need to send to myself instead of the attorney.

How frustrating your lawyer's office is TO ME! lol so I can only imagine how frustrated you are. I think it is good for you to intervene and have things sent to you instead. When I sent each of my items (x3) we would receive an automated response the second after sending it which said "thank you for your inquiry". Then some time later (day, several days) a form email would come saying "we have received documentation for your case" blah blah and that was the one where someone had actually obviously looked at the file. They weren't saying it was being processed or accepted, just that they received it. Then later we got our checklists for the photos and one for my son for his I-864 paperwork. Again, never anything saying it had been accepted.

Hang in there... fight for her to send you the file copies you need. She should be copying you EVERY TIME she sends something.

No, it never really takes as long as their time frames. It's just long to cover their a$$es in case it does take that long, for whatever weird reason. Typically, packages take 1-2 weeks to be reviewed, so probably late next week for you or early the next week.

Like a week? That's why I'm a little worried since it's nearly 3 weeks now.

Hmm, yeah, it's a little long. I'd suggest calling up USCIS tomorrow then and inquiring.

One day after case number assigned, AOS invoiced and paid. Printed out my cover sheet.

One silly question, my mother is the joint sponsor, as I am a student and make pennies outside of loans, should I bother including a paystub and employment letter if my mother has everything covered?

Hrm :/

Here's to hoping for a quick DS-3032 acceptance!

If you don't have an income, then no, you obviously won't have pay stubs or an employment letter. Make sure the joint sponsor sends those though.

I do have income, but I'm a server, so it's not even CLOSE to poverty guidelines.

Mother sent:

2 years tax return copies (2010/2011) [she couldn't get her tax transcripts, very weird]

2 years W2 (2010/2011)

2012's W2 (they haven't filed yet)

Employment letter

Most recent paystub

Her I-864

Stepdad's I-864A as contributing income to the household

I have:

My I-864

3 years tax transcripts from the IRS (2009-2011)

I was going to send this off tomorrow but am thinking about waiting to see if my boss will write up an employment letter. But he's notoriously slow, so I can't imagine it would be done within a week. :/

Oh, it sounded like in your last post you didn't have a job laughing.gif Don't worry about the employment letter. Just send a recent pay stub, if you can.

Don't forget to include your birth certificate showing the relationship between you and your mother and father (so, long form birth certificate showing parents' names). Your mother will also need to include proof of US citizenship/residency. If your father is contributing income, he'll need to include his proof of US citizenship/residency as well, along with his employment letter/pay stubs.

Is that really required to show that we're related? Isn't anyone allowed to be joint sponsor?

Yes I just read again in the instructions that a Joint Sponsor does not have to be related to the Petitioner or Beneficiary. (Mine is related, but rather not put birth certificate if I dont have to.)

Yup, if you've been married for over two years, then you get an IR-1 visa, meaning a 10 year green card, and you skip the ROC process 2 years after immigrating to the US. Saves you $600!

By what point to you have to have been married for two years? At the rate things are going, my husband and I will probably reach the two year mark before we get to the States (our anniversary is May 4th). Or did we have to have reached that point before applying for an I130? Just checking - 600$ is a lot of money after already spending a couple grand on this process.
