Mine ended up being around 30 pages I think and well over the recommended file limit. Thankfully, Adobe had an option of 'Reduce File Size', which made my file go from 20MB down to 8. This was the order for my AOS package:

-Bar-coded cover sheet from payment portal

-Cover letter

-I-864 form

-IRS tax transcripts (2010, 2009, 2008)

-employment letter

-14 most recent pay stubs (looking back, I would have included less pay stubs Posted Image)

Thanks a lot Saylin! I wonder which version Adobe Acrobat you used. I'm thinking of subscribe for one month use. Should I use Acroba Pro or Acrobat Standard X/ XI ? Just wonder which one has better performance of compressing files. Thanks!

Called multiple times and was on hold most of the time. I finally was able to speak to a person - he was polite and he said that my case has still not been entered into the computer and to call back on Friday. Does that mean the case has arrived but not entered or that it has not even arrived to NVC?

Should I keep calling every day or just wait till Friday since he mentioned very definitively that the case will not be entered till at least Friday

Hi All,

I'm new to this website I notice everyone gets helpful advice from people who are very knowledgeable about the process. I'm hoping someone can shed some light. My concern is, it's been 3 business days since my parents received the DS3032 acceptance email from NVC having me (their child) as their choice of agent but at this point I haven't gotten any invoice/bill for the IV yet. I noticed most people get their IV bill a day or two following the ds3032 acceptance email. Does anyone have the same issue as I have?

USCIS

6/22/12 - sent i-130 to chicago lockbox

7/03/12 - NOA1 (case at CSC)

12/05/12 - RFE (passport pictures, translation of marriage cert)

12/15/12 - sent pictures and translation

01/15/13 - received notice confirming RFE documents had been received

01/16/13 - NOA2

NVC

01/07/13 - NVC received case

01/25/13 - got NVC, BIN and IIN numbers

01/25/13 - DS3032 email sent

02/07/13 - DS3032 accepted

02/XX/13 - IV bill paid

02/XX/13 - IV packet sent

01/30/13 - AOS bill paid

01/31/13 - AOS packet sent

XX/XX/13 - case completed

XX/XX/13 - interview scheduled

Consulate

XX/XX/13 - medical appointment

XX/XX/13 - interview

XX/XX/13 - visa in hand

XX/XX/13 - POE

No IV bill yet. Parents received the DS3032 acceptance email 8:32am eastern time to be exact :(

Keep calling everyday! I had a woman tell me the same thing - I called on a Wednesday, and she swore the case numbers wouldn't be ready until at least Monday. I called on Monday and they had been ready since Friday. <_< Don't listen to the operators! Keep calling just in case. You might get lucky!

This was about 2 years ago for me, so I can't quite remember, but I think I had Adobe Acrobat. There should be a free trial on Adobe's site though that you can use for 30 days. Should be plenty of time for your process.

It sounds like they have received your case due to the comment about them not having entered it in the system yet. But unless you hear an operator say specifically that they've received it, you can't be sure.

And definitely don't listen to them. Always call them every single day.

Well, if it was just accepted a few hours ago... Your case is now in queue for the IV to be invoiced. Should be within the next few days.

Unfortunately I've used Adobe and the reader is free. Now when I try to do something more, it prompts me to buy. :P I would guess any standard Adobe should have the compress function. But this function is not stated clearly in functions. And other softwares don't specify reducing size function either.

Hey friends, I really like some of your usernames, like: iWaiting, NVC, petitioner etc. :D

These are great. I had a hard time to think out my username. :ot:

Mine was easy as it's the same as my name on World of Warcraft whistling.gif

I'm a bit confused :bonk: ....received an email from my attorney's office today, they forwarded me an email from NVC which states that "we have received your correspondence" and it mentions something about the pictures not needed for EP beneficiaries blah blah...I had specifically told the clerk to put our case number plus whatever supporting documents she's sending on the subject line, but it looks like she only put our case number....now I am worried, is this going to be rejected? ughhhhh HELP!!

oh and she hasn't received an email of acceptance for the AOS package, or at least she hasn't forwarded me that email yet! I called the NVC to find out if they have been accepted but they gave me the "20 business days Bull S***"!!

I'm sorry but I do have another quick question. I though I was ready for AOS and IV forms, had done all my reading and studying, but once I actually started to do it, I realized I wasn't so sure about some questions!

We'll be using assets to qualify and I cannot find anywhere if I should include one year or 6 months of bank statements?

Thank you

As long as the case number was in the subject line, that's fine. Once they open the PDF file, they should recognize which file it is. Don't stress about this!

And of course the packages wouldn't have been accepted in just one day! It would have been a miracle otherwise! It's probably going to take around a week, but it definitely doesn't hurt to start calling now in case the packages do get reviewed really quickly.

Ok, good because I freaked out when I saw only the case number in the subject line...well, I'll paste a section of the email she received from NVC.

Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your correspondence.

The NVC does not collect scanned images of the photographs required for each travelling applicant for cases processing electronically.

Please be advised that you must provide two identical front-view color photographs with a white background as required for each visa applicant at the time of the interview.

The photos must have the name of the person in the photo printed on the back along with the case number associated with the person's photo.

that's why I figured this might be an acceptance email since it says we have received your correspondence, but it's weird that they only sent ONE email as they were TWO packages sent :(

I'll tell you why I'm stressing out, yesterday after she told me she sent the packages, she forwarded me TWO auto response emails from NVC, the first one was sent at 6:24 and the second one was sent at 6:54 PM, so I figured ok two emails sent!

but today when I opened the email she has sent me, it has another email she sent to the NVC at 9:54 PM yesterday and that's confusing as to why she needed to send another email at 9:54, I emailed her asking if she has received a separate email of acceptance for the AOS package, but I don't want to call her since over the last few days I called and emailed her multiple times, I am kind of embarrased to be honest lol

Another day, no case number. The guy was helpful in telling me that it's actually being processed and uploaded into the system, as opposed to... it's still sitting in a giant pile waiting.

The snow there is still terrible, he tells me.
