hello there just checking information about consulate. Im a filipino base in Singapore. I requested in NvC my immigrant visa interview will be done here in Singapore. Or do I need to get an In my country of birth. thank you

Like Darnell asked, the first three letters of your NVC case number tells you the location o the consulate you will interview at.....so what is it?

It sound silly but I'm confused..

Question on Form 1-864A Item 13. "...support on behalf of the following _____ named intending immigrants.." ? - what do i suppose to write on the blank if i only apply for my mom, 13.a.?

second question on the same form Item 15. " ...of support on behalf of the above ______ named intending immigrant: - do i suppose to write my name or my mom's name or 13.a.?

Thanks!

trust me soemtimes we get to a point in this process that we forget even answers we have provided others with because it now applies to us and we don't want to mess up.

if the question specifies "intending immigrant" then who is that. since you are the petitioner, it cannot be you .

Silly NVC headbonk.gif Glad the operator updated your address though. On your next call (for whatever reason), confirm that they have your most up to date address, just to make sure the operator updated it correctly.

Is everyone supposed to get this kind of a PDF from NVC - or is this for only people eligible for Electronic Processing?

If you don't call at all, you'll receive a letter in the mail with your case numbers from NVC. Expect to receive it about a month after your case numbers have actually been assigned. Any postal mail correspondence will take weeks to receive. Even longer when they have to mail abroad.

Calling them is definitely preferred if you don't want to wait months for correspondence. The number for NVC is on the first post. Just call and ask for the case number. You'll also need the IIN (Invoice Identification Number), but that's only assigned after the case number. And yes, by giving both email addresses over once a case number has been assigned, you'll receive correspondence from NVC by email, which only takes a few days to receive, compared to a few weeks by postal mail.

I HIGHLY suggest you read the first two posts (as it's clear you haven't). Re-read them over and over again. Everything you've asked could be answered within those first two posts. Time for some reading!!

I'd like to add that I have NEVER received mine by mail. My kids both got theirs but mine never arrived.

I'm joining! Our case has been at the NVC since October, but that's mainly because we were working out where we were headed as a couple and we landed on the original conclusion we started on!

I'm a bit worried because we've been living out of the US together so it could be difficult to establish a US domicile. Thankfully, I voted in the last election, just got my driver's license renewed, applied to a US university to get my pre-reqs for nursing, and we manage a bank acct in the us...

Our Consulate shouldn't be incredibly busy as it's Iceland lol. It's too bad we didn't decide sooner that we were going, they just changed consular officers (they have to rotate every 3 years) and I know the former one!

Welcome to the PARTY!!

Thanks so much! I'm going into stress mode this week because I'm also in the process of launching a blog and trying to hear from my husband while he is finishing up his last few weeks in Denmark... all while competing in the top volleyball division in the country and packing up all of our stuff -_- ... Hopefully it all goes swimmingly though and we can be in the US in time for my dad's wedding!

Speaking of hating weekends...

My missing document, the one I've been waiting months to get my hands on, that is holding up my case complete, has made it stateside.... Now the weekend limbo until the mail service picks up! Boo for weekends :bonk:

At the same time, I'm elated it is getting so much closer. February is my month!! (insha'Allah)

Thank you all for letting me ramble my trivialities!

Is everyone supposed to get this kind of a PDF from NVC - or is this for only people eligible for Electronic Processing?

Which PDF?

Grats on the progress! Let's hope NVC is open on Monday!
