Question on Form 1-864A Item 13. "...support on behalf of the following _____ named intending immigrants.." ? - what do i suppose to write on the blank if i only apply for my mom, 13.a.?

second question on the same form Item 15. " ...of support on behalf of the above ______ named intending immigrant: - do i suppose to write my name or my mom's name or 13.a.?

You Will Need These Items Later...

You will need to mail the following documents to the National Visa Center in New Hampshire after your initial petition is approved by the USCIS (months from now). Because it can take some time to get these items, you should start working on this now.

The alien and each child immigrating to the United States must submit to the NVC original documents issued by an appropriate authority, or certified copies of those documents listed in this section. In addition to the original or certified copy you must also include a photocopy of each document. This means you are submitting 2 copies of each document: one original plus one photocopy. You sill send these documents along with the DS-230 form we prepare for you.

All documents not written in English, or in the official language of the country in which application for a visa is being made, must be accompanied by certified translations and submitted to the NVC. The translation must include a statement signed by the translator stating that the translation is accurate and that the translator is competent to translate the language to English.

- Birth Certificates

- Court and Prison Records, if any.

- Deportation Documentation, if any.

- Marriage Certificates - Marriage Termination Documentation for any prior marriages of alien, if any.

- Military Records, if any.

- Photocopy of Valid Passport Biographic Data Page for alien.

- Two identical color passport style photographs.

- Police Certificates for all applicants 16 years old or older.

- Adoption Documentation if any.

These documents must be originals or official copies. You can't scan or fax them. The alien must put these documents in the mail to you. They can't be delivered to the embassy. It can sometimes take months to gather these original documents...don't wait until the last minute!

You can't send these documents to the USCIS now with the original petition, and even if you do they will make you send them again later. For this reason you DO NOT want to send any original documents with the initial filing to the USCIS.

There is no way to get around having these original documents and photos mailed to you in the United States. Don't waste your time trying to find a way around this requirement. These documents can't be scanned, faxed or taken to the embassy. Make sure these documents

My hubby has all of our original documents (marriage, BC, police cert, etc) because he had to give them to our attorney. what is the safest way he can mail them to me? since I need to take them to the interview. Fedex? UPS?

I'm not so convinced that the casefile shipped out to NVC on same week it was approved. I'm sorta leaning towards a monthly shipment from wherever the approval occurred. MSC itself has been 7 to 10 days. Local Offices have been all over the calendar - 6 to 35 days.

For clarity, get an ISO at USCIS, and ask specifically about casefile movement out of the office that approved it. You want to know exact dates. Prior to MSC involvement - I'd write 'Get an ISO, ask the ISO to ask the adjudicator to find the find and get it in the next shipment in the next run in the mailroom' but with MSC involvement? I'm sorta clueless on exact verbiage ...

I have to agree. It is VERY random. My NOA2 came on Dec 11th. My case file was in NVC offices as of Dec 17th. Then another couple weeks to get my numbers assigned. My case never left MSC. It was there the entire time, never sent to local office.

Okay, sort of off topic... but it's kind of frustrating that my husband can get a visa to travel virtually anywhere, but here to see me. So he's now in southern Sweden with friends... and I am hanging out with my cat.

Ah at last, this is the place to hang out at. Hello everybody, my petition was approved feb. 1 and now it's been a week. I called NVC 2 days ago and my files hasn't even touch ground with NVC.

We got our AOS fee PAID today!!! Yay

This is going really fast!!! And I couldn't be happier haha to be honest I am beyond excited to almost see the end of this long journey that my husband are taking to BE TOGETHER for the rest of our lives!

We will be sending the Packet with I-864 forms tomorrow, I know that over the weekend probably nobody will take a look to them, but don't want to wait any longer! hehehe

Great minds think alike haha, I was just thinking about this yesterday...I've never hated the weekends so much before. For the first time ever I look forward to mondays and hate when friday hits

I'm sure I will go back to my usual self when this visa process is over but for now HATE WEEKENDS lol
