Yup, thats what we always do! just in case! :) quick question though, send it to ATTN: DR or ATTN:CMR?

Same address as on the IV bar-coded coversheet, I believe. Either way, it'll get routed to the right department if it's wrong.

I told my attorney to send two different emails, one for AOS and for IV...she said that they usually merge everything together and mail it and if she should do the same now too, but I said no, make 2 different PDF files and send 2 different emails. Now I'm thinking maybe it would be better if they sent everything at once?! that way they can review all of them at once? what do you think? can that be done? should I tell her to merge everything together and send it as one?

I think they should go individually. Are all of your bills paid now? We sent our AOS first and then our IV later as they weren't invoiced at the same time. Each package received its own acknowledgement. One saying the AOS package had been received and then the other saying that "supporting docs" for the IV had been received. The same person might not be looking at each part to be honest. I'm no expert. But I would send them individually. What if 1 person is looking at your AOS item and not even touching your IV but the supporting docs are sitting with them while someone else is actually waiting for the supporting docs to go with your IV package. I don't pretend to know exactly how it works and I may be way off. But I know that different people looked at our 3 cases in different ways based on the responses we got.

I know I babbled but I'm trying to give some supporting thoughts on why I'm suggesting it this way.

I was the only one who ever called NVC when my husband immigrated. Now he is a USC and has sponsored his son to come live with us - and I am still the one calling (although, based on the paperwork filed, there is no evidence I have any relationship to the petitioner or beneficiary...I don't appear anywhere in this round of forms). NVC has never asked yet *who* is calling, they just want receipt numbers.

I was going to make myself the agent of my stepson's case so I could interact with NVC, but now I don't think that is necessary. I still have some time as we are waiting for our case and invoice identification #s.

---

Anyway.... I am peeking in the Spouse Visa Case Filing forum, as there doesn't appear to be anything similar in the general NVC forum. My stepson's I-130 was approved Jan 20 (well NOA-2 of Jan 22) and received at NVC Feb 4. I've called NVC twice and gotten very nice women both times.

So exciting to see all the movement on the spouse cases! I remember how nervous I was for my husband's process - no reason to be, I just got all worked up based on how the embassy in his country treated him when he applied for tourist visa(s). We had absolutely no problems and were treated very well by the immigrant CO (opposite of how he was treated by the nonimmigrant CO). Good luck to all of you for speedy interview dates!

Thanks for all the NVC info. I completely blocked this from my memory and had to re-learn everything...

I'm VERY surprised they talk to you about the case. Sometimes when I called in they wouldn't even talk to me about MY OWN KIDS whose cases are tied to mine because I am not listed as the agent (my husband, USC is) and would insist that my husband call in. Sometimes I would get someone friendly and they'd open up each case individually to look at it but many times they refused!

It's really frickin useful IF attornies can follow the frickin directions.

Bonus points on you for actually morphing your attorney's office into actually reading the directions.

Your attorney's office merged into one mailing, prior, for prior clients. A MAILING.

This tells me they never do EP for Canada Before.

Subtract 35 percent on their invoice for you training them 'how to do'.

NVC is kind of fast! 2 weeks to approve my choice of agent email (ok I guess) but then only 1 day to invoice for IV! Never been so happy to receive a $230 bill!

We won't be able to send the AOS as soon as expected, as we're still waiting for some documents, too long to explain but

Packet IV will be ready soon though, and I wonder if I should go ahead and send it. As NVC would still be waiting for the OAS though, would it make any difference at all? (compared to sending everything together later)

MsHogan, I like your suggestions as always :) I already told them to email the packages individually so I will make sure they do. Yes my bills are both paid now, they showed as paid today, I filled out the DS-260 and saved it so that the attorney can take a look at it before submitting it. My hubby dropped off all the supporting documents at their office today and the clerk said she will have everything ready by monday the latest since the attorney needs to look over the documentation in case we are missing something. I can't waittttt for it to be sent off, hopefully we won't get any checklists and case complete shortly after! keep your fingers crossed for me!

Darnell, I swear I should ask them for some of my money back, since I've been training them for EP. I even sent an email with instructions for EP, I've told them multiple times what I need them to do, and yet she keeps telling me what they always do! :bonk:

anyways I already told her what to do and asked her to email them to me once everything is scanned before sending it to the NVC as I don't trust she will do the job right. Now I have to wait for the attorney to review the DS-260 before submitting it, I am actually glad I filled it out myself since it would have taken her a week to do what I did in an hour!

I am pretty sure I have read this somewhere but just to be safe:

I got an email that my DS 3032 has been approved but a few hours later I got a checklist saying that NVC is waiting on the Choice of agent form..

I am suppose to ignore it right ?

Thanks...

Btw Saylin, I sent out my second email last night and received approval by 9 am... pretty fast...

We got invoiced today for the AOS fee and we made the payment right away  now we just gotta wait a little more to get it "PAID" in the payment portal.

I have a question, we are going to have my FIL as our joint sponsor, since my husband makes above the poverty lines, but he was out of the U.S. for 6 months in 2012 (while we did all the paperwork to get married here in Mexico), so the taxes will show a lower amount, and we think that the interview might happen on April and 2012 taxes will be required...So we want to be safe and have a co-sponsor.

In the I-864, PART 1, question 1 my husband (petitioner) marked the option "I am the petitioner. I filed or I am filing for my relative"

My question is: FIL has to mark option d" I am the only joint sponsor"??

He presents taxes jointly with MIL, but they are not going to use both incomes, just FIL one.

Thanks in advance for any help!! :luv:
