Im the beneficiary if its I will be the one to call or my husband. In USCIs they will only want to talk to the Petioner. Thank you Sorry many questions thank you again

I was the only one who ever called NVC when my husband immigrated. Now he is a USC and has sponsored his son to come live with us - and I am still the one calling (although, based on the paperwork filed, there is no evidence I have any relationship to the petitioner or beneficiary...I don't appear anywhere in this round of forms). NVC has never asked yet *who* is calling, they just want receipt numbers.

I was going to make myself the agent of my stepson's case so I could interact with NVC, but now I don't think that is necessary. I still have some time as we are waiting for our case and invoice identification #s.

---

Anyway.... I am peeking in the Spouse Visa Case Filing forum, as there doesn't appear to be anything similar in the general NVC forum. My stepson's I-130 was approved Jan 20 (well NOA-2 of Jan 22) and received at NVC Feb 4. I've called NVC twice and gotten very nice women both times.

So exciting to see all the movement on the spouse cases! I remember how nervous I was for my husband's process - no reason to be, I just got all worked up based on how the embassy in his country treated him when he applied for tourist visa(s). We had absolutely no problems and were treated very well by the immigrant CO (opposite of how he was treated by the nonimmigrant CO). Good luck to all of you for speedy interview dates!

Thanks for all the NVC info. I completely blocked this from my memory and had to re-learn everything...

Two questions: If a person needed to hold up their case at NVC after they have Case Compete (I might have to we'll see). Will NVC just put us on that year hold long as you call in and make contact?

Also if a co-sponsor is needed at interview how long does the embassy hold on to petition and allow you to get that paperwork to them.

Right now I am in a bit of an unknown. Now unemployed and in the interview queue. And we are thinking of just holding up and gettng stable again. Cuz a co-sponsor is just not an option can't and won't do that.

Okay. But trust me I am still basking in the Case Complete and I am still going to Nigeria. hehe  You know me forever hopeful and grateful. And hey means I will be here ummmmm forever. :)

NOW? No. Why? You have a case complete. 'Holding Clock' is stopped when case complete is issued.

Also if a co-sponsor is needed at interview how long does the embassy hold on to petition and allow you to get that paperwork to them.

why not bring a 2nd I-864 instead, have it in hand, on interview day? BE PRO-ACTIVE!

Right now I am in a bit of an unknown. Now unemployed and in the interview queue. And we are thinking of just holding up and gettng stable again. Cuz a co-sponsor is just not an option can't and won't do that.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I told my attorney to send two different emails, one for AOS and for IV...she said that they usually merge everything together and mail it and if she should do the same now too, but I said no, make 2 different PDF files and send 2 different emails. Now I'm thinking maybe it would be better if they sent everything at once?! that way they can review all of them at once? what do you think? can that be done? should I tell her to merge everything together and send it as one?

INTERVIEW APPROVED :)

Grats!! kicking.gifkicking.gif

Thanks for all the NVC info. I completely blocked this from my memory and had to re-learn everything...

I'm kinda surprised they haven't asked you WHO you are. I'm guessing they're assuming you're part of the case since you know the receipt number. I myself was only asked a handful of times who I was. Upon replying beneficiary, they simply carried on with their business.

And definitely come here. The IR-2 visa is the exact same as the IR-1/CR-1 visa (with just a few different documents needed). The process is still the same though (sending DS-3032, paying bills, sending AOS/IV packages, etc).

Hope you get the case number soon! Are both packages ready to go?

Two questions: If a person needed to hold up their case at NVC after they have Case Compete (I might have to we'll see). Will NVC just put us on that year hold long as you call in and make contact?

Also if a co-sponsor is needed at interview how long does the embassy hold on to petition and allow you to get that paperwork to them.

Okay. But trust me I am still basking in the Case Complete and I am still going to Nigeria. hehe  You know me forever hopeful and grateful. And hey means I will be here ummmmm forever. :)

I don't think it's possible to hold up the case at this point. But, when an interview date is scheduled, and it's too soon for you, you can reschedule it to be later.

And it's a lot better if you bring the co-sponsor paperwork with you to the interview, otherwise it will delay things.

Did you lose your job? :( Any possibility of getting a new one soon? If not, can a family member or friend help you out?

called NVC to check if they got IV Packet. they said I need to return Part 1 of ds230 because there was something missing (date). do i wait for the checklist before sending it back to them?

As long as you know exactly what's wrong, yes, you can send it now before you get the checklist. As long as that's all that's wrong. I suggest calling back and asking at least two more operators about the checklist.

Where can I ask about being former US Navy and getting my papers expedited. NVC said they would send them to the PI Embassy and not need them.

I am assuming Active Duty, not for Former Military. If I said I was Navy, and not specific, I wonder if they would check?:help:

You can try requesting an expedite, but if you're not on active duty, it probably won't be granted. The purpose of expediting active military members is due to impending deployment.

Yes, include the IV bar-coded cover sheet from the payment portal.

This is why I suggest having someone else review the paperwork before submitting. After looking over your own paperwork multiple times, your eyes glaze over things, so it's good to get fresh eyes.
