to those of you that have filled out the DS-260 form:

I am contemplating between filling out the form myself or having the attorney do it, I spoke to his clerk this morning and she said that since it's time consuming and it requires very detailed questions she won't be able to finish it at once as she may need my help with some questions, she has to save it and keep going back to it blah blah blah.

I haven't done any of the paperwork myself so I am somewhat nervous about it, do you think I will be able to handle it myself? is it pretty straight forward? do you think I should just fill it out myself and get it over with or have her fill it out and send me the saved version for verification?

Can it be saved though? or once you start you have to finish and submit it?! please advice

OK! I answered the question myself, went over the screen shots of the DS-260 and doesn't seem like something I can't handle. thanks anyways though :)

Thanks to everyone who has helped us get this far, and I'm happy to be part of this thread.

I'm so happy to be the newest I-130 graduate, so happy that I don't even mind that I'm stupid about the process from this point. Please bear with me as I ask the usual stupid questions.

Here's the first one: We filed NO supporting documentation with our I-130. Nothing. Just the "required" stuff. In our defense, we filed three weeks after our wedding and really didn't have anything to send. The I-130 was approved anyway (nobody is more shocked than I am that it got approved instead of RFE'd). I intend to try to send in all of the info we have on our commingled finances and ongoing relationship, but I am not sure how to best go about this. Can someone please give me the play-by-play?

Thanks very much!!!

Send it in the IV package as "Evidence of a Bona fide marriage" Hopefully the NVC will then forward this to the embassy, and it would also be a good idea to bring a folder load of stuff to your interview too.

Once you start you can go back to it. If you leave in the middle of the page it will automatically save the PREVIOUS page but nothing on the one you're currently on. You can also manually save it with the click of a button and go back to it. IT IS NOT HARD. I did mine in less than an hour. It will probably be easier for you to do it yourself than for the clerk at your lawyer's office having to keep messaging you for details on things like your previous addresses and dates and things like that. I would just do it yourself. I'm still surprised you're paying a lawyer for all this. You're having to do so much work anyway. You can always have your lawyer go log back in before you submit it and read through it I guess.

AOS & IV bill invoiced

Aha ! See? That's the one good thing (the only one) about having a G-28 filed with the I-130.

Go Get Em !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Yup -

bleuawolf - http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/267559-usa-is-now-arizona/page__view__findpost__p__4100571

as to what the I-130 listed, those 6 types, here's what I did plus my interpretation of it:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=218775&st=0&p=3324240&hl=Rusticentry3324240

though that was some time ago. Fast forward to when I filed in October, we had several leases, 2 years of tax documents, a house purchase contract, more utility bills, 12 trip sets o documentation, more photos, a stack of western union remittance receipts, international power of attorney, stuff from US Embassy Chengdu, etc etc. We'd been married almost 5 years by the time I filed, and the casefile was about 7 inches thick.

So, ya, it's ok to send more stuff in with the DS-230. Let me know if you need guidance on the reason 'why', aye?

Go Get Em !

Thanks MsHogan, after looking over the screen shots I decided to fill it out myself, because if I leave it in her hands God knows when she will get to it...I've been telling my hubby that the money we paid the lawyer went to waste since I've been doing most of the work myself, they just do the typing lol

when we hired him we had no clue about this whole process but thanks to VJ I know more than the clerk does. But I like your suggestion, I will fill it out and have her take a look at it before we submit it. thanks :)

Hi! I have a question  Today my DS-261 was already available online, so I already completed this step, YAY!

Yesterday as soon as we got the case # and IIN we logged into the consular electronic application center (CEAC) website, and the AOS bill was NOT INVOICED yet.

After I completed the DS-261 form, I clicked on the INVOICE tab and the AOS field is in blank! No petitioner's name, not even the "Not invoiced" message. Is this normal?

[...]

In advance,Thanks for your help! :luv:

It's just a really funny coincidence. It disappearing usually indicates the bill will be invoiced shortly. So keep an eye out!

Thanks to everyone who has helped us get this far, and I'm happy to be part of this thread.

I'm so happy to be the newest I-130 graduate, so happy that I don't even mind that I'm stupid about the process from this point. Please bear with me as I ask the usual stupid questions.

Best way to send in more evidence at the NVC stage is to include it in the IV package. Nothing really more to explain. Just gather whatever you want to send and add it to the back of your package.
