DHL refuses to send original shenasnameh since its such an important document and they don't want to be liable for it. That's what my wife told me.

Either way my wife needs her shenasnameh for things such as withdrawing from a bank account and other things that may come up. So she cannot just send the original. I am going to have her ask the issuing place for a certified copy or something.

Both me and my wife are Persian.

Well.. DHL did accept my wife's shenasnameh but I may not be a good example because she had her parents send it from Iran to India.

Certified copy should be fine. I don't know if the embassy really places that much stress on this document as the Iranian government does anyway.

Hello everyone! Case approved at USCIS and waiting on an NVC case number! Looks like this is the most confusing part of the IR1/CR1 Journey! Best of luck to everyone! smile.gif

I do have a question, does the "automated NVC system" no longer work? I can only speak to a person during their hours, otherwise nothing, no option for a case status, contrary to the wiki articles here on VJ. headbonk.gif

Thanks, will do. So even though NVC has my case physically, but hasn't put it into their system yet, I don't count the month until I get an NVC case number?

It doesn't matter what month your case gets to NVC or what month your number is assigned. EVERYONE migrates over to the current month, so we can all stay together.

Thank you :)

Oh alright, different than the monthly USCIS forum threads I guess!

The AVR was taken down about a year ago, unfortunately. So, you can only talk with an operator now when you call the number.

That's so bad, between that, and the my case status for USCIS not showing my case until I got approved, it seems USCIS and NVC are still in the year 2000! tongue_ss.gif

It's gonna take a few weeks for a case number to be assigned. But, keep calling often to know when the case has arrived at NVC.

As for what documents are needed, go back to the first two posts. Everything you need is there. Read through the guides, read through the FAQ.

Hi everyone,

I just came back from visiting my husband in USA for 6 weeks. That's the reason why our progress at NVC is going very slow. Now it's time to work on it as we hope to move to the States in mid June. I have everything put together (almost anyway) in order to send out the IV package tomorrow. Wish me luck! One question, should I include a letter from my ex husband saying he allows my son to migrate to USA with me with the IV package?

Thanks so much everyone!

You can include a copy if you wish, but it's probably better to hold onto it and bring it to the interview, as well as POE.
